Loughborough Farm Loughborough Farm is a community food growing project in Loughborough Junction, South London.

Loughborough Farm is a community food growing project in Loughborough Junction, south London. The project was started by Loughborough Junction Action Group in August 2013 and has been growing ever since. The vision was to create a patchwork of community growing spaces on derelict or underused land. Our main site is on Loughborough Road, SW9 7EL, opposite Wyck Gardens. We run regular volunteer growing sessions at our main site on Loughborough Road. We grow vegetables and fruit together, rather than people having individual plots. The harvest is shared between volunteers and surplus goes to our sister project The Platform Cafe. Our sessions are currently on:
- Tuesday: 1:30 - 3:30 pm
- Saturday: 1:30 - 3:30 pm

Our farm market is on the first Saturday of every month, 11 am to 3pm outside the Farm. We sell a range of edible, outdoor ornamental and house plants to help support our work.

🌱 We’re delighted that Loughborough Farm has been shortlisted for a Blooming Lambeth Award in the Food Growing Excellence category!

It’s wonderful to see the hard work of our volunteers and everyone involved in the Farm recognised.

We’re getting ready for Apple Day this Sunday, 18 October! 🍎🍂 Come along for our free community celebration, with apple pressing, live music, arts and crafts, and fun for all ages.

We’ll be joined by , who’ll be demonstrating green woodworking with pole lathe bowl turning. We’ll also be joined by our friends at Barnaby J. Shaw, L&Q Housing and First5Lambeth 🐝

As founder members of the early years consortium First5Lambeth, we’re delighted to be contributing to their carousel of free events for children and families across Lambeth.

This year’s heatwaves have meant a much smaller apple harvest than usual, and we were starting to worry that we wouldn’t have enough apples for our traditional apple pressing at Apple Day on Sunday 18 October.

Luckily, we discovered Jeskyns Community Woodland in Gravesend, who had plenty of apples to spare 🍎🍏

We were also generously donated apples by our neighbour GROADonate 💚

🐛 The Big City Bug Hunt is underway! 🦋

There’s plenty of wildlife to discover at Loughborough Farm and Wyck Forest Garden, so next time you’re visiting, why not see what you can spot?

You can record your sightings on the iNaturalist app. Your observations will help build a picture of the biodiversity in our growing spaces and contribute to Capital Growth’s London-wide citizen science project 🔎🐞

We love our new pond - thank you Froglife!

💧 We’ve built a new wildlife pond at Loughborough Farm 🐸

Developed with Froglife and our brilliant volunteers, the pond is creating a new habitat within the Farm, giving wildlife another place to thrive.

This builds on the pond we created with Froglife at Wyck Forest Garden last year. Together, the ponds are part of a wider project linking local ponds to create a wildlife corridor, helping wildlife move between different habitats across the area 🌿

We celebrated the new pond with a day of activities, including a wonderful printmaking workshop with Froglife and a session learning about managing the pond for wildlife and the species it could support.

A huge thank you to Froglife for your support, and to our volunteers and staff who helped dig the pond and build the beautiful fence and gate around it.

It’s another small but important step in making our growing spaces richer in biodiversity - and we can’t wait to see who moves in!
