💚 Clara, our little girl…writing posts like this never gets easier for us dog carers.

🐶 Last week, you gently wandered over to Rainbow Bridge - no fuss, no drama, just quiet and peaceful.

💚 You were a fabulous King Charles Spaniel with a mind of your own. Gentle and sweet, absolutely. But you were also fully prepared to tell any dog to back away if they dared invade your space. A lap dog you may have been but you ruled your world like a Queen.

🐶 Between all of us at Dogs at Heart, we spent countless hours with you. You walked with us every day, five days a week, for over ten years. Ten years of Clara time and somehow it still wasn’t enough.

💚 You became part of our daily rhythm, part of our London parks and a huge part of our beautiful story. You welcomed so many dogs into your life over the years. Some you adored, some you tolerated and some you informed that they were standing far too close for your liking.

🐶 These past months have been incredibly hard for your wonderful family. They watched as you slowed down, cared for you with so much love and made the kindest - and most heartbreaking - decision any of us ever face: to let you go peacefully, gently and with dignity.

💚 Now at Rainbow Bridge, restored to full health, reunited with old friends, playing in fields of sunshine with your ears bouncing brilliantly with endless snacks… if any dog tries to pinch your ball, well - we know exactly how you’ll handle that.

🐶 Run free little girl. You were loved so much.

🐶 Bella is off on her summer holidays and then will be moving to pastures new, but not before she became our Dog of the Week!
