Lilly’s Transformation, Loose Lead & Recall Progress 🌟
Lilly, the beautiful Golden Retriever, has made such incredible progress with her training journey with Ack9. When we first started working together, walks were very stimulating for her. The lead would go tight quickly as she followed scents, spotted movement, or became excited by her surroundings. Walks felt busy rather than calm and connected.
Recall was also a struggle, especially in more distracting environments. If something interesting caught her attention, responding to her owners felt secondary. Like many friendly, curious Goldens, Lilly simply found the world more exciting than coming back when called.
Fast forward to now… and the difference is huge 👏
On the lead, Lilly is much more mindful.
She’s walking with a softer lead, checking in more frequently, and showing better awareness of where her owners are. Instead of forging ahead, she’s learning to move with them. That connection on the lead changes everything, it makes walks calmer, more enjoyable, and far less stressful for everyone involved.
Her recall has come on beautifully as well.➡️swipe
We’re seeing:
🐾 Faster responses to her cue
🐾 Turning away from distractions
🐾 Choosing to come back even when something interesting is happening
🐾 Greater engagement overall
Recall is so much more than just calling your dog back. It’s about safety, being able to call them away from potential danger. It’s about freedom, giving them appropriate off-lead time with confidence. And it’s about trust, your dog understanding that coming back to you is always worthwhile.
The biggest shift with Lilly isn’t just in the behaviours themselves, it’s in her decision-making. She’s thinking more, regulating her excitement better, and making smarter choices out in the environment.
We are incredibly proud of Lilly and her dedicated owners. The consistency and commitment they’ve shown is exactly why we’re seeing these results.
Keep smashing it, Lilly 💛🐾
