It's going to be a hot one this bank holiday weekend. Perfect weather for sitting in the shade with your dog and absolutely nowhere to be.

To keep them busy while you soak it up, we've got 10% off everything on the site this weekend. Use code SUNSHINE10 at checkout.

A long-lasting chew, a bag of Beef Liver Crisps, or one of our Lucky Dip Bags make great shade companions. Brian can vouch for all of them.

And while you're out enjoying the sun, a few things worth keeping in mind:

🌡️ Pavement test: if it's too hot to hold your hand on for 5 seconds, it's too hot for paws. Stick to early mornings or evenings for walks.

💧 Fresh water everywhere: dogs dehydrate faster than you'd think in the heat. Top the bowl up and bring water on any outing.

🚗 Never leave them in the car: even with windows cracked, it heats up dangerously fast. Not worth the risk.

🌳 Find the shade: if you're out for the day, make sure your dog has somewhere cool to rest.

🍦 Skip the ice cream: most human ice cream isn't great for dogs. Frozen dog-safe treats are a much better shout.

Have a brilliant bank holiday weekend.

Every year around this time, dog hairs appear on things you didn't know were possible. The back of your coat. Your work trousers. That one clean jumper. Everywhere.

It's coat season. Most dogs go through a real coat change as the weather shifts, and what comes off them during this period is genuinely impressive.

If the hair is one thing, the coat coming through is another. Dogs that aren't getting enough omega-3 can end up with dull, dry or itchy new growth, and skin that's more irritated than usual as the warmer weather arrives.

We've put a Coat Season Bundle together: Natural Whitebait, Salmon Oil, and a Fish Finger taster. It's £7.50 right now, down from £11.
Works from the inside. The hoover handles the rest.

If you're hoovering the carpet every other day and still losing the battle, you're not alone. Coat season is in full swing, and the carpet usually takes the worst of it.

The shedding is normal. But a dog whose diet is missing the right fats will often shed more, and the new coat growing back can look rougher than it should.
Omega-3 is what makes the difference. Oily fish is the most effective natural source of it. Add it consistently and most owners see a real change in coat condition within a few weeks.

Our Coat Season Bundle: Natural Whitebait + Salmon Oil + a Fish Finger taster. Down from £11 to £7.50 for a limited time.
Worth trying before you buy another hoover.

That hair on the sofa isn't your imagination. This time of year, dogs shed properly. Double-coated breeds can lose what feels like an entire second dog in a matter of weeks. Single-coated dogs tend to do it more gradually, but the sofa still suffers.

What most people don't think about is what's happening underneath all that shedding. New coat growth puts extra demand on your dog's skin and diet. Not enough of the right fats and the new coat coming through can look dull, dry, or patchy.

Omega-3 from oily fish is the simplest fix, and most owners notice a visible difference in coat condition within a few weeks.

We've put together a Coat Season Bundle for exactly this time of year: Natural Whitebait, Salmon Oil, and a free Fish Finger taster. Normally £11, currently £7.50.
