Lambs can look perfectly healthy while worm burdens are already beginning to affect growth.

That’s why FEC results, liveweight gain, grazing history, and what you’re seeing on farm can all help build a clearer picture of your flock’s worm challenge.

If monitoring shows treatment is needed in the last third of the grazing season, this could be a useful point to consider giving a break dose with a newer wormer active.

A strategic dose at this time of year can help remove worms, including any worms resistant to previous treatments, helping lamb performance.

🐑 When a few dull lambs turned into a lesson in smart worming

On a hill farm at Blaen Bwch, Builth Wells, Rob Powell noticed a few lambs looking a bit dull, coats staring, not quite thriving. Instead of reaching straight for the drench gun, Rob's first move was a faecal egg count.

The result wasn't severe, but with a history of drenches that weren't fully clearing the burden, Wynnstay's David Short recommended Zolvix as a targeted clear-out dose.
