🐾 Another week has flown by at The Cat House @ Dolfawr! 🐾
Honestly, where do the weeks go? ❤️ It feels like no sooner have I welcomed everyone through the door than I’m sitting down to write another weekly update!
We’ve had some lovely new faces staying with us this week, and as always, it’s been a privilege getting to know each little personality. 🐱
💕 Meet Olive and Sooty, two sisters who joined us for their first stay. Olive has a very Bengal-like intelligence about her, with a curious mind that needs keeping busy! So, thinking up little mind games, providing stimulation and making sure she had plenty to keep her clever brain occupied became a priority. Every cat is different, and discovering what makes each one tick is all part of the fun!
We also welcomed Gwennan, a very sweet older girl who reminded me that sometimes the best way to build trust isn’t through touch, but through a gentle voice and a little reassurance. Learning to read those subtle signals and respecting what each cat is comfortable with is so important. ❤️
And this is exactly why I choose to keep The Cat House small. I want to have the time to really get to know each guest, understand their individual needs and give them the care that suits them — not simply treat every cat the same. Some want fuss and cuddles, some want games and adventure, and others just need a calm voice and the space to settle in their own time.
One of the loveliest things this week has been hearing that all our new guests’ pet parents were so happy with their stay that they’ve already rebooked! 🥹❤️ That genuinely means the world to me. Knowing they could see that their precious family members were content, safe and relaxed is the best reassurance I could ask for.
🐾 And then there are my lovely regulars, Pearl and Leo!
As much as I love discovering new personalities, there’s something incredibly special about welcoming familiar faces back through the door. We already know each other, we know our little routines, and everyone settles back into their own space as though they’ve never been away. It’s a lovely feeling when that trust has grown over time. ❤️
I will later share a little video of my shadow, Leo, this week. 😂❤️ He’s decided that our afternoons should include a compulsory cuddle and cuppa break, and quite frankly, who am I to argue? ☕🐾
I’m not sure I was supposed to reveal this little secret of mine, Leo! You see, these quiet moments are some of my absolute favourites. It’s not just about feeding, cleaning and caring for our guests; it’s about the little connections, the trust that develops and those special moments when a cat chooses to spend time with you simply because they feel safe and happy in your company.
Those are the moments that remind me just how lucky I am to do what I do. 🥰
To every one of you who entrusts your precious little family members to me, thank you. I never take that trust for granted. I know how much they mean to you, and I feel incredibly grateful that so many of you choose The Cat House @ Dolfawr to look after them when you can’t be there.
Every guest, whether it’s their first visit or their fifteenth, matters to me. ❤️
Here’s to another week of purrs, personalities, little adventures, familiar faces and, apparently, compulsory afternoon tea with Leo! ☕🐈
Much love from me and all our lovely feline guests at The Cat House @ Dolfawr. 🐾❤️
