Hi everyone, I have been through a lot these last few years. My health has been a serious issue for me, but now it's time for a change 💚
I'm starting my journey of entrepreneurship this year, and it begins with standing up for myself and believing in the work I can do. I'll be pushing through any mental barriers that may get in my way, working hard on my health and taking everything one step at a time 💛
Here's a little background about me:
I am Melissa, 21 years old. I suffer from Atopic Eczema, Asthma, Hypermobility Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Atopic Allergic Conjunctivitis, allergies to all nuts, coconut, sesame, Sodium Benzoate, animal dander & dust. I am partially deaf, short sighted in one eye, I have an o***y which is Polycytic, and I struggle with Slow Processing speed - it took me two days to write this post 🤣
I left my first ever job due to changes in company policies, and that I found my mind and body were not compatible with it in any way.
Afterwards, I was assessed as LCWRA (Limited Capability for Work and Work Related Activities), which really put into perspective the physical limitations I have for a possible career.
Despite how disheartening it was losing the ability to work a "normal" job, I spent my spare time unearthing many facts about myself over the last couple of years. Starting with finding out what was going on with my body, and what I could and could not physically do.
It was incredibly frightening discovering how many things I struggle with on a daily basis, and being told by GPs how many things were "not normal" for a person of my age, left me feeling lost.
However, recently I have come across a huge wave of inspiration, and have looked at my situation from a new perspective. I've found a way I can safely pursue my passions and still be able to contribute to society in a meaningful manner.
Therefore, through much consideration and opinions of family members, I am finally starting my own business! 😄
This business will be Film and Equine based, with animals and people being at the heart of it 😄 I'll be sharing my journey with you all, and hopefully inspiring others along the way 💖
