No walks for the dogs this week, they are so lucky to have this on their door step (5 minute drive away) I can just open the doors of the van and they can jump in the water completely in the shade . They love it 👌

This might be controversial and I'm open to hearing other people's views.

But I let my dog go hunting for rats and I let her be a dog, so when she comes home she's settled and behaves (mostly ) 😆 .
Suppressing a dog's needs and instinct is a ticking time bomb for bad behavior especially if you have a highly driven dog.
Dogs need an outlet, they have to ich that scratch.
This is why play is so important, it teaches them boundaries and an off switch. The minute I say times up stop what you're doing, she steps away and gets back in the car .
Having a dog that is compelled to be on best behavior at all times and always in a command could potentially also blow their box, when the dog isn't compelled to be in a command you will end up with a dog who doesn't know how to behave properly and like a dog should, because it's so used to being told what to do. I think that might also be a controversial view 🙈

It's so important to listen to your dog and try to understand what they need, chucking a ball over and over isn't enough it becomes boring, obsessive and in the long run can be bad for their joints, getting into a gnarly game of tug a war where you can really connect with your dog and in the long run your dog will want to work with you .
If you're not confident enough playing tug a war and to meet your dog in that state of arousal, you can do scent games or other enrichment activities to get your dog working with you . Hope this was useful and I don't offend anyone 😆🙈👍

this bridle way brings back so many good memories, bombing around on the horses when I was kid 🤣 .

I love watching the dogs play, Poor spot gets so much stick from maple 🙈🤣 .
