🛑This week a new clients horse with a coffin joint issue.🛑

🛑This horse was referred to us from other equine professionals.
As there was a slight lameness issue.
Shortening of the gait and slight lameness on RF.

🛑Upon X-rays, it was made apparent that the horses coffin joint had pressure on the extensor process of P3 and the distal dorsal region of P2.
X-rays are shown in the photos of this.

🛑When the angles are close like this, the idea with the shoeing plan is to open up the joint space to relive the pressure.

❓So this is where the shoeing package produced comes into play❓

⭕️A sideclip shoe to help allow the breakover to moved for ease of the coffin joint.
The 3D 3 Degree wedge pad with 5 shore impression material, helps with realigning the pedal to allow the joint space to open up, and a more appropriate Hoof Pastern Axis.⭕️

💯When this package was applied the horse instantly showed a more positive result.💯

Over time the wedge will hopefully be reduced with a more appropriate hoof pastern axis occurring with the help of the materials applied.

🐎Nice little before and after of some feet today, that needed some extra TLC.🐎

These feet had developed a lot of flared hoof wall.
The toe had migrated forward, allowing the heels to underrun.
But with a lot of hoof wall and sole growth, a more appropriate hoof pastern axis was obtained.

Unfortunately one shoeing does not fix hoof wall angles, and this one will take a couple.
Much better by the end of the shoeing appointment , progress to be made 👏🎉
