As temperatures rise, it’s important to help our furry friends stay safe and comfortable in the heat.
💧 Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water
🌳 Make sure pets have access to shade throughout the day
🚶 Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when it’s cooler
🐾 Check pavements before walks – if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
❄️ Use cooling mats, damp towels, or cool (not icy) water to help them cool down
⚠️ Remember: Pets can suffer from heatstroke very quickly. Never leave any animal in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
No dogs died from not going for a walk for a few days but they do die from heatstroke 😢
