Had the pleasure of working with this working filming his ponies walking and trotting over poles for my biomechanics research. The sun was shining and everyone did great! Thanks again!!

Kicked off the new year with the sweetest little donkey 🫏- Trevor. We used a bit of PEMFT to increase blood flow which helps warm his muscles up and encourage relaxation and then treated with some massage and stretches followed with some exercises.

No matter whether big or small, a star competitor or just a lovable companion, physio can help keep our furry friends happy and healthy!

If you think your pet could benefit from some physio don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Stretches!!

Regular stretching has lots of benefits for your horse especially before and after exercise.

🐎 Reduces muscle tightness, soreness and stiffness, allowing for faster recovery times.
🐎 Reduces risk of injury by improving soft tissue elasticity and joint mobility.
🐎 Improved flexibility improves range of motion, stride length and overall performance.
🐎 Correction of muscle imbalances addressing asymmetries in muscle size and strength leading to more balanced movement.
🐎 Increased relaxation by relieving muscle tension and improving circulation.

⚠️ Always ensure the muscles are warmed up before stretching to prevent injury. Either after exercise or following a 5 minute massage to warm up the area.⚠️

Caring for our older dogs and cats! 🐕 🐈‍⬛

Just like us our dogs and cats also experience age-related changes such as reduced mobility, increased stiffness and muscle loss.
Of course we want to give our pets the best we can to be comfortable and happy. Here’s just some of the ways that physiotherapy can support our pets as they get older:

⭐️Pain management - massage, stretches and electrotherapies such as laser or PEMFT reduce inflammation, improve circulation and release endorphins!
⭐️Improved joint mobility - improving mobility and flexibility of soft tissues and joint capsules, reducing stiffness and maintaining range of motion.
⭐️Low impact muscle strengthening - controlled exercises strengthen muscles around joints improving stability. Exercises can also reduce or even prevent further muscle loss.
⭐️Improved balance and coordination - some animals struggle with their balance and spatial awareness as they get older, several exercises work to address this improving stability and reducing the risk of falling or tripping.
⭐️Weight management - older animals are prone to gaining weight which increases the strain on the joints. Physiotherapy increases muscle mass and burns calories without increasing strain and reducing risk of injury.

🐶 🐱 If you have a golden oldie who you think could benefit from a tailored low impact physiotherapy programme then drop me a message! 📩

The lovely Moose 🫎 got to be the first patient to use my new bio-mag or PEMFT (pulsed electro magnetic field therapy) machine today.

What is it?
🧲- it is a safe and non-invasive therapy that runs electric currents through magnetic coils to improve cellular activity.

So what does it do?
✅ Pain relief - reduces muscle tension and discomfort
✅ Improved circulation - increases blood flow and supports better cellular activity
✅ Improved mobility - loosens stiff joints and increases flexibility
✅ Supports recovery - improves the healing process for soft tissue injury and even fractures!
✅ Stress relief - has a calming effect and reduces anxiety in nervous animals.

Moose can be quite an anxious dog which causes her to hold a lot of tension in her back making her quite sore. The bio-mag helped her to relax allowing me to massage and stretch some of those sore areas to help her feel more comfortable. ☺️
