Can you believe it?! 4 whole years of Fin Feather & Fur! 💜🥳

What started as a little idea has grown into the crazy, muddy, noisy, tail-wagging business we absolutely love — and it’s all thanks to YOU! 🐶🐱🐾

🏡🐾 HOUSE SITTER WANTED! 🐾🏡

We’re growing our Fin Feather & Fur family and we’re looking for a reliable, caring and animal-loving House Sitter to join our team! 💜

This would be an ADHOC position, perfect for someone looking for flexible work around their existing commitments.

The role would involve caring for clients’ pets in their own homes while their owners are away — making sure they’re fed, cared for, given plenty of love and attention, and that their usual routines are maintained. 🐶🐱🐰

✨ We’re looking for someone who is:
🐾 Minimum age 16
🐾 Reliable & trustworthy
🐾 Responsible and caring
🐾 Confident around animals
🐾 Happy to stay in clients’ homes
🐾 Flexible and available for adhoc bookings
🐾 Comfortable working independently
🐾 A real animal lover!

Experience with animals is preferred, but most importantly, we’re looking for someone who genuinely loves what they do and will treat every animal like their own. ❤️

Unfortunately, she forgot one very important thing…

DOGS HAVE NO RESPECT FOR PERSONAL SPACE. 🤣🐶

The biscuit was never really hers. She was merely the temporary custodian. 😂

🚨 URGENT STAFFING UPDATE 🚨

It’s currently absolutely CHUCKING IT DOWN, the sky is flashing, the thunder is doing its best impression of the apocalypse… and Heather has decided she is NOT BUILT FOR THIS. 😂⛈️

Whilst everyone else is thinking “ooh, lovely rain for the garden”, Heather is currently sat wondering:

🤔 “How convincing would a fake illness be?”
🤔 “Can I claim thunder-related anxiety as a medical emergency?”
🤔 “Would ‘I’ve been struck by lightning’ work if nobody actually sees me?”
🤔 “Surely Becci can run the business on her own today…?” 👀😂

Meanwhile, the dogs are probably sat there like:

“So… are we still going to daycare then?” 🐶

Sadly for Heather, there is absolutely no such thing as a thunderstorm sick day when you run a doggy daycare. 🤣

So if you see her today looking suspiciously pale, hiding behind a van and jumping at every single rumble…

Just trying to enjoy a quiet cuppa at work… ☕️

Meanwhile:
🐾 One Dalmatian has decided my lap is actually a climbing frame.
🐾 One Labrador is investigating from the front.
🐾 Another is supervising from behind.
🐾 The fluffy committee are conducting a full inspection.
🐾 And apparently, personal space is NOT part of the employee benefits package. 😂

💜 BEHIND THE BUSINESS… WE’RE JUST MUMS TOO! 💜

Sometimes, amongst the dog walks, pet visits, treat orders, van runs, messages, bookings and the general chaos of running a business, it’s easy to forget there are real humans behind Fin Feather & Fur. 🐾

We’re mums. We have a family to look after. We have school holidays, children needing us, family commitments, washing that somehow multiplies overnight 😂 and all the normal ups and downs that come with everyday life.

We absolutely LOVE what we do and we are incredibly grateful for every single one of our clients who trusts us with their precious animals. ❤️

But during the school holidays, things can sometimes look a little different behind the scenes. We’re juggling business, family and everything in between — and sometimes we simply can’t be everywhere, answer everything instantly or run at 100mph every single day.

And that’s okay. ❤️

We’re humans, not robots. 🤣

We’re doing our very best to keep our families happy, our clients happy and all your furry, feathered and four-legged family members cared for.

So if you see us looking slightly frazzled, fuelled by caffeine and running on approximately 3 hours’ sleep… just know we’ve probably been mum-ing before we’ve been business-ing! 😂☕️

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support. It genuinely means the world to us. 💜

Mums. Business owners. Animal lovers. Human beings.
And occasionally… absolute chaos. 😂🐶🐴🐱

💦 WHEN THE PADDling POOL IS FULLY BOOKED…

No problem. Apparently, a washing-up bowl will do just fine. 😂🐾

Why settle for a fancy paddling pool when you can cram your entire Labrador into something roughly the size of a dinner plate and create MAXIMUM SPLASH? 💦🤣

10/10 for enthusiasm.
0/10 for keeping the water in the bowl. 😂

Heather & Kirsty: “It’s 7am… nobody speak to us until coffee.” 😂

But honestly, there’s nowhere else we’d rather be! 💜

Heather & Becci: “Tonight we’re doing absolutely NOTHING. We’re having an evening off.” 😌🍷

Also Heather & Becci 20 minutes later…
“Do you want us to help feed the kittens?” 🐱🍼😂

Apparently, having an evening off when you work with animals simply means not looking after the dogs for a few hours… but finding other animals that need feeding! 🤦‍♀️🤣

Because when caring for animals is your life, you don’t really switch off… you just change species! 🐶➡️🐱❤️

And honestly… we wouldn’t have it any other way. 🥰🐾
