Welcome to the LUU Guide dogs society, this page is for members to get updates about our events and any volunteering opportunities that we may have. Who we are:
Leeds University students working in partnership with The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. Aims:
Raise awareness and funds for the association through engaging social events;
Bring together like-minded people who share the same passi
on in helping others;
Provide support for the blind and partially sighted students in the University and we are planning to extend that support outside of the University soon; and
Increase the number of volunteers for the Guide Dogs Association
What we do and what we can offer you:
– Provide a social platform for like-minded people
- A chance for you to get involved in volunteering activities
- Various flexible fundraising activities where you get to interact with the lovely guide dogs
- Interactive awareness events : Blind-tasting, blindfolded race, maze challenge
- Trips to the Guide Dogs training centre
- Opportunities to become an official volunteer for the Guide Dogs organisation
- Free Sighted guiding certificate when you participate in the training
- Discount cards that are given by our sponsors, these can save you lots of money
