Absolutely loving this new strain of oyster mushrooms we are growing atm from the guys at Jurassic Coast Mushrooms 🦖🍄

The ‘Ghost Oyster’ with its lovely wavy, textured caps and egg shell patterning is a joy to have around. It forms a good contrast within our mixed oyster punnets - it’s a bit more prim and proper than the big shaggy grey oysters!

We loved hosting our first mushroom growing workshop onsite at the farm last Saturday after the wonderful team at St Vincent's Centre Leeds let us hire their space! The charity cafe, shop and community space that you’ve probably driven past on York Road is in the same building as our mushroom farm.

We doubled this up with tours of the farm showing people the process and science behind small scale commercial mushroom growing. It’s always great to welcome people into the farm and talk about what we do.

Our next workshop on 11th October is fully booked but we’ll be getting some dates on for workshops and tours in Jan/Feb soon.

Roll up roll up, Mushroom Yard Sale!

With the recent weather conditions of wet wet wet followed by hot temperatures we’ve had an absolute bonanza of mushroom growth! Therefore we are having a bank holiday sale tomorrow Sunday 24th May and these mushrooms are absolutely crying to be chucked on your BH barbecues.

Ed is tinkering away on his campervan all weekend and so has agreed to sell the mushrooms from home/out the back of the van - think of it like a lemonade stand 😂

Bargain prices are in place:
Mixed oyster 500g - £7
Mixed oyster 1kg - £13

King oyster 500g - £8.50
King oyster 1kg - £15

They take heat and flavour like no tomorrow. A little warning though - cook these mushrooms on your BBQ and you’ll have your auntie saying ‘I can’t believe these are mushrooms!!’ all evening 😅
