Some reunions are just too special not to share. ❤️🕊️

Pancake popped back to visit his parents, Baby and Peanut... I suppose you can take the youngster out of the nest, but you can't stop them visiting Mum and Dad! 🥹

Seeing him perched outside their aviary, peeking in to say hello, was such a lovely reminder of why we do what we do. Pancake is thriving in the wild, but it's clear he hasn't forgotten where he came from.

These moments are incredibly rewarding. Rescue isn't just about helping birds recover, it's about giving them the chance to live the life they were always meant to have, while knowing they can still come home for a quick family catch-up. ❤️

We'll also be sharing a tour of our resident flock's brand-new aviary soon, once everyone's settled in, so keep an eye out!

A little visitor today! 🕊️💙
Guess who came back to see us today... Pancake! 🥹
It looks like someone couldn't resist popping back to visit Mum and Dad! Baby and Peanut must have been thrilled to see their grown-up youngster checking in. ❤️
Seeing Pancake confidently flying free and choosing to come back for a visit is exactly what every rescue hopes for. It's always so special to know they remember where home was.
We've also included a little sneak peek of Baby and Goose relaxing in the corner of their brand new home while they settle in. Once we've finished getting everything set up just the way we want it, we'd love to give you all a full pigeon house tour! 🏡🕊️

🎉 Rescue Complete! 🕊️❤️

Today was a very special day for us as we released one of our lifelong flock members, Pancake, the child of Baby & Peanut, back into the wild. Watching them fly off was incredibly rewarding.
Pancake is the picture of health, with strong, confident flight, and we couldn't be prouder of how far they've come.
Wishing them a long, happy, and safe life out there. ❤️

At the same time, our resident flock has now been moved into a much larger aviary! They'll be spending the next few days settling into their new home, and once they're comfortable, we'll be sharing plenty of photos and updates with you all.

Thank you, as always, for following and supporting our rescue. Every success story like Pancake's reminds us why we do what we do. 🕊️✨

🕊️ Our newest rescue has arrived - Meet Peaches

A big thank you to the lovely people who brought this little one to us after their cat proudly delivered an unexpected "gift" to them! 🐈 We're so grateful they acted quickly to get him the help he needed.

They've been cleaned up, made comfortable, and will be monitored very closely over the next few days while we see how they respond to treatment

Thank you again to his finders for caring enough to make sure Peaches got a second chance. We'll keep you all updated on their progress. 🤍🕊️

Update:

Sadly, despite being made comfortable and receiving care, this little one passed away peacefully. We’re so grateful to the kind people who brought him to us and gave him a chance. Sometimes with wildlife, injuries are not always visible, and sadly he had already been through more than his little body could recover from. Fly high little one 🕊️

A little update from us today. ❤️

Dave has now been transferred into the care of another rescue, where he'll hopefully continue receiving the specialist care he needs. We're so grateful we were able to help him when he needed it most, and we wish him the very best on his recovery journey. Since being in our care, he has had some lovely raw fish platters and some time to rest and recover. Thank you to everyone who followed his story, supported him, and sent kind messages.

In the meantime, here's a little moment from our own rescue pigeons. 🕊️ After a warm day, they've all decided the best place to be is snuggled up together. No matter how much room they have, they always seem to choose to cuddle!

We're also busy working on a bigger enclosure for our permanent rescue flock. This will give the birds that can fly, and those that are getting there, a much larger space to stretch their wings and enjoy themselves safely. As part of the upgrade, I even got stuck into a bit of DIY and made them a brand new perch to sit on! We can't wait to show you all the finished enclosure.

A little rescue update from us. 🕊️

We've now taken in a juvenile gull. We just wanted to clarify that we are a pigeon rehabilitation rescue, not a gull rescue. This youngster is only with us because, unfortunately, no other wildlife rescue was able to take them in at this time. We couldn't leave them without help, so they're safe with us while we do our best for them.

We also have an update on Dave. He was seen by a vet today, and we've now been referred to another wildlife rescue that is better equipped to continue his care. We're currently waiting to be in contact with them, and will share another update as soon as we know more.

On a positive note, we were really pleased to receive a lovely compliment from the vet on our avian bandaging. It's always reassuring to know that the care we're providing is being recognised, and it gives us confidence that we're giving these birds the best support we can while they're with us. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our little rescue. Your kindness makes it possible for us to help birds when they have nowhere else to go. ❤️

Dave Update!

Dave has now been moved into a much larger quarantine cage, where he'll have more room to rest and recover while we continue monitoring his injured wing. He's bright, alert, and full of energy and escape plans! 😅

We're still waiting to hear back from the veterinary practice by email, so for now we're continuing to provide supportive care and keeping him as comfortable as possible.

Rescue Update! 🐦💙

Last night, we rescued an injured seagull with a little help!

After seeing a Facebook post about a bird with a broken wing, our friend Zephyr, headed to the location where the gull had been spotted, and thanks to the power of teamwork, we were able to safely catch him.

A huge thank you to Zephyr, and to the kind gentleman who let us into his back garden so we could retrieve him. We really appreciate your help!

Meet Dave! He's now safe in our care, and to reassure everyone, we've included a video of him enjoying a nice big fish. It's always a relief to see a rescue eating well!

We're planning to get Dave seen by a vet as soon as possible and are currently waiting to hear back from them. In the meantime, he's being kept somewhere safe, quiet, and comfortable while we monitor him closely.

We'll keep everyone updated on Dave's progress. 🩵

🕊 Lancaster & Morecambe – We're Here to Help! 🕊

This is just a little reminder that we are based in the Lancaster & Morecambe area and currently have space to take in injured pigeons and pigeons in need of help.

If you come across a pigeon that is injured, grounded, unable to fly, caught in netting or string, or simply doesn't seem right, please don't leave them to suffer. Get in touch with us as soon as you can, and we'll do our best to help.

Even if you're unsure whether a pigeon needs rescuing, feel free to send us a message with photos or videos. We'd much rather you ask than leave a bird that may need urgent care.

Please help us reach more people by sharing this post. You never know when someone nearby might find a pigeon that needs help.

Today, we went out to look for an injured juvenile seagull after being tagged in a Facebook post. When I arrived, two other people were already out searching, too, and all of us were combing the area in the middle of the UK’s 30-degree heatwave, trying to find this baby.
Sadly, despite all of us searching, we weren’t able to locate them. It’s always heartbreaking to walk away without answers, especially when you know a young bird is vulnerable and in need of help.

I also want to give a huge thank you to the woman who originally found the gull. She did absolutely amazing, staying with the bird for around an hour, chasing away predators and doing everything she could to keep them safe while help was being sought. That kind of compassion and quick action can make all the difference, and she should be so proud of herself!

With this heatwave, wild birds are really struggling, so if you’d like to help, here are a few simple things you can do:

• Put out shallow dishes of fresh water for birds to drink and bathe in
• Place the water in shaded areas if possible, and try to keep it topped up so it stays cool and clean
• If you can, leave some food out too, ideally near a water source
• Keep pets away from any grounded or vulnerable birds
• If you find an injured bird, stay nearby if it’s safe to do so, keep predators away, and contact a local rescue for advice as soon as possible

Thank you to everyone who keeps an eye out for wildlife, especially in this heat. Even when the outcome isn’t what we hoped for, the fact that people care enough to stop, protect, search, and try means so much.
