🐾 A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT FROM PAWSITIVE CARE FIFE 🐾

After a lot of thought, we have some bittersweet news to share…

Pawsitive Care Fife is becoming simply… Pawsitive Care! 🐶✨

We will be leaving beautiful Scotland and relocating to Ontario, Canada. 🇨🇦

We don’t have any solid moving dates just yet, but one thing we do know is that we will no longer be taking bookings in Scotland after the end of October.

Leaving Scotland is incredibly bittersweet. We are so sad to say goodbye to all the wonderful dogs, families, and people who have supported Pawsitive Care Fife along the way. ❤️ Scotland has given us so many amazing memories, and we’re incredibly grateful to every single person who has trusted us with their beloved furry family members.

But while we’re sad to leave, we’re also excited to see what the future holds for Pawsitive Care! 🐾🇨🇦

📅 If you’ve been thinking about booking a dog sit, now is the time!

Our remaining availability in Scotland is limited, and no new sits will be available after the end of October.

Buddy’s reputation is really growing 😂🐶

Today’s new achievement: TOE BITER. 😂

Thankfully I had a slipper on, so my toe is perfectly fine! I did have to grab the little menace by the scruff and pop him behind the gate for a wee timeout so he could calm himself down. 😂

So far, Buddy is officially known as:

🐶 The Toe Biter
🚲 The Bike Chaser
🐕 The Chihuahua Scarer

And somehow, despite all this chaos, we’ve already managed 10,219 steps… AND IT’S NOT EVEN NOON. 👣😂

It’s absolutely chucking it down with rain, so I got completely soaked on our morning walk. Came home, stripped off and jumped straight into a lovely hot bath to warm myself back up. 🛁😂

Still got another walk at lunchtime and one more before bed…

Buddy really said: “You thought you were done? Absolutely not.” 😂🐾

At this rate, I’m going to need a name for myself too.

Just two absolute idiots running around the house chasing each other 😂🐕💨

He had his toy. I had apparently lost all sense of dignity. And somewhere along the way we decided the correct activity was to chase each other around the house while I laughed like a complete lunatic. 😂

Today turned into quite the adventure with Kino! 🐶❤️ The day started with kisses! 💋

We headed out around 8am and ended up being out for nearly 4 hours, clocking up 15,000+ steps before we made it home.

We started off near the park, but somehow ended up following the river, wandering through the woods, climbing hills and discovering some absolutely beautiful paths. We didn't get properly lost, but there were definitely a few moments where we were making our own route through the woods! 😂

Kino was off-leash for most of the walk and was such a good boy. He had a fantastic time exploring, although he did manage to lose one ball somewhere I couldn't reach it, and then promptly lost another one down a completely different hill. Apparently one ball wasn't enough of a challenge. 😂

He also spent a surprising amount of time sticking his face into nettles, because apparently those were very interesting.

It was around 18°C, so we made sure to take breaks and he had some water along the way. He was a happy, panting little explorer the whole time. 🐾

We found some beautiful walking paths today, so I think we've found our new favourite place to explore. We'll definitely be back tomorrow!

Now we're both enjoying a very well-earned rest. ❤️🐶

🐾 A little Pawsitive Care Fife update! 🐾

I know I've been a bit quiet online lately, but that's partly because I'm spending more of my time focusing on the animals I'm caring for. 🐶❤️

For me, quality care comes first, making sure every dog gets the attention, love, and time they deserve while they're with me. 🥰

That being said... I'm still out here promoting my little business! 😂

I'll be at the Burntisland fair tomorrow enjoying the day, but I'll also have some Pawsitive Care Fife business cards with me. Because why not promote my business while I'm having fun? 🎡🐾

If I spot you with a dog I'll be approaching you to pet them anyways, so I'll pass a card while I do! 😉❤️

🚨 If you’re not educated on dogs, heat, and thermoregulation… please stop spreading misinformation. 🚨

I’ve seen so many comments lately saying things like “dogs in Africa walk around in the heat, so why can’t ours?”

Because they are not the same situation.

Dogs that have been born and raised in hot climates are often acclimatised to those conditions over generations. A dog living in the UK is not automatically adapted to extreme heat just because another dog somewhere else can tolerate it.

And please stop with the idea that “my dog is fit” or “my dog has water” means heat walks are safe. Fitness and access to water do not remove the risk of heat exhaustion, heatstroke, or burns from hot surfaces.

Dogs don’t sweat like we do. They rely heavily on panting to regulate their temperature, and when the environment becomes too hot, that system can become overwhelmed.

This isn’t about being dramatic. It’s about understanding that dogs can and do suffer in heat — and responsible owners adjust their routines to keep them safe.

The confidence people have to spread misinformation about animal welfare without doing the research is honestly exhausting. 😤🐾

🚨 URGENT DOG PARENT PSA 🚨

With temperatures hitting 27°C and higher, it is absolutely critical to know when it is safe to walk your dog. It broke my heart yesterday seeing people walk dogs on the beach in this heat. There was no shade, and no visible drinking water.

Dogs cannot cool themselves down as efficiently as we can. This chart is a lifesaver. Please, save it and share it.

If you are unsure, do not go out. 👏🏻
