EVENT REPORT 🏇
Scone BE90 – XC
After dressage, I settled Barry into his stable for the night and headed off to walk the course. It was beautiful — lots of questions, but such fantastic jumps and perfect going. It really did feel like being part of the bigger event.
Baz was an absolute star in the stables. Super easy to look after and calm all evening. I had a couple of drinks with some lovely friends, but was very sensible and actually got a decent night’s sleep… it’s a miracle! 😂
Thursday morning and I was nervous as hell. Alan and Andy arrived to help, and we headed over to the warm-up.
Barry was KEEN 🐎💨 and my nerves started to settle a little.
I weirdly love the wait around the start box — walking in and out, trying to time the exit perfectly. 😂
As soon as she said “GO!”, we were off.
He gave me the ride of my life. Straight, forward and brave — if we ignore the little spook at a banner after the water. 🤦♀️🙄
Honestly, I couldn’t fault him.
We were well up on time, and I had to apply the handbrake HARD after the final jump, managing to avoid any speeding fines. 😂
Honestly, that buzz is like nothing else.
I love my brown pony so much. 🤎🐎
