🐾 Week 4 of Puppy Foundation Training

This week we took recall out into the real world, putting all those foundations into practice in the environment where they really matter.

Puppy training is a bit like a jigsaw. Each skill we develop is another piece and, gradually, they start fitting together to create real results.

Just been playing around with AI and asked ‘Create a visual of me as a tarot card using my personality that doesn’t exist yet 😅

Apparently I can’t be trusted to go to the toilet unsupervised. 🙈😂

Luka has appointed himself chief bathroom safety officer and must remain at the door at all times, just in case I fall off the toilet.

Nine years together and personal boundaries are still very much a work in progress. 🤦‍♀️🐾♥️

Please tell me I’m not the only one who hasn’t been to the bathroom alone for years? 😂

I feel so lucky to have enjoyed so many lovely puppy and adolescent training sessions recently, with some truly wonderful people. 🩷🐾

We've shared information, ideas, guidance and plenty of support along the way.

For me, that's one of the best parts of what I do. It's not simply about training dogs. It's about helping people feel supported and confident as they learn alongside them.

🐾 Adolescence. When your lovely puppy suddenly seems to have forgotten everything you taught them! 😂

More distracted. More excitable. Bigger feelings. Selective hearing. Pulling on the lead. Struggling to settle. Making some rather questionable life choices. 🙈

This stage can take owners by surprise, but it doesn't mean your training has failed.

My Adolescent Dog Training Programme is four weeks of personalised one to one training designed around your dog and your everyday life.

We'll work on the things that really matter: engagement, confidence, self control, disengagement and helping your dog learn to think and make better choices, even when the world around them is exciting.

And just as importantly, I'll help you understand what you're seeing, what to do and why.

Because I don't simply teach your dog.

🐾 Week One of Puppy Foundation Training 🩷

Those eyes! 😍

This session we started building some of those really important early foundations, working on engagement, proximity and self control.

At this age everything is new, so we're helping this gorgeous little puppy learn to listen, respond and make good choices while her owner learns how to support her along the way.
