CB26 Four-horned chameleons (Trioceros quadricornis)
I get lost in watching these little ones explore in their new environment that I just finished building.
These ate one of my favourite chameleon species that I'm so fortunate to care for in my captive breeding programs.

The latest custom build almost complete. This is an upgrade for the Four-Horned chameleons (Trioceros quadricornis). I just need to finish the door and all of heating/lighting and misting etc.

Well the end of a beautiful in the South of the Algarve, here in Portugal bore no definite sightings of the elusive Mediterranean chameleon (Chamaeleo chameleon).
I knew that it was likely to be a long shot based on all the information I had received leading up to this trip and even more so, the more I spoke to locals and field guides.

It was certainly a worthwhile trip however, with gaining a greater insight into their habitats, etc.

Thanks for.following me on this trip and now I know where to focus my attentions on and when is the best time to return with hopefully greater success.

I'm extremely thankful for having the opportunity to be able to fulfill some field research and improve my understanding of these wonderful chameleons.

Early start this morning. My last and likely chance to come across the Mediterranean Chameleon (Chamaeleo chameleon). So I'm walking the coastline, seeking out any vegetation that looks potentially suitable for a perching chameleon to warm up.

Just a report on environment findings yesterday morning in Ria Formosa national Park.
Research and data capture are extremely important in helping us learn more about what's going on with these vulnerable chameleons.

Today is very important for myself here at JSL Chameleons & Exotics.
As part of what we do is surrounded by education and data contribution. There is only so much you can learn from a book or a post. With environments in continuous evolution, its extremely important to be on top of what these habitats, therefore the wildlife are having to adjust to.
Today is as much about obtaining relevant data for analysis as it is locating specimens.

Being that we are in the midst of high temperatures combined with the dwindling population of Mediterranean/Common Chameleons Chamaeleo chameleon) here in Portugal, it is going to be a wing and a prayer to spot and observe a chameleon today.

Here in Portugal current readings this afternoon. I'm going to head out after dusk to see if there are any signs of life in this particular area before I head to Ria Formosa national Park later in the week in pursuance of the elusive Mediterranean chameleon (Chamaeleo chameleon)

I think I've got all my data collection equipment in pursuit of the Mediterranean chameleon (Chamaeleo chameleon) in the Faro region of Portugal.
Fingers crossed the temperatures aren't too hot to find them.

I have to admit, these are my proudest achievement in breeding programs from a conservation point.
To see these grow and thrive has brought me so much joy and fulfillment.
I hope this won't be the last time I have the opportunity to add these to captive numbers.
