And baby has arrived 💕
Ivy has taken to her big sister role like a duck to water! We couldn't be more proud of her as she's smashing our new life as a family of 4.

The biggest things we did to help Ivy?
🐾 Took time to prepare and made changes prior to baby's arrival so that it wasn't overwhelming once baby arrived.
🐾 Let her adjust at her own pace
🐾 Alwaaaays supervising interactions
🐾 Rewarding all the positive behaviours around baby

Why Your Dog Ignores Recall.....

Your dog isn’t ignoring you to be “stubborn.” Most of the time, the environment is simply more rewarding than coming back to you.

Outside, your dog is competing with:
🐿️ other animals
👃 exciting smells
🐕 other dogs
🌳 new environments
🎾 distractions everywhere

If recall only works indoors or in the garden, it usually means your dog hasn’t fully learned the behaviour around distractions yet. Your dog should believe returning to you is the best option every time.

To improve recall:

✔ Start in low-distraction environments
✔ Use high-value rewards
✔ Keep recalls short and successful
✔ Practice consistently
✔ Make coming back feel exciting

Reliable recall isn’t built in one session. It is built through repetition, trust, and positive experiences

Missing all my dogs so much already 😅 Just wanted to say a big thank you to all clients who have gifted beautiful items for baby - completely unexpected and incredibly kind of you all.

Due to a recent influx of training enquiries, I thought I’d share a couple of trusted recommendations while I’m off, as I may not respond to messages as quickly for a while:

Please note: I will most likely still be posting on socials (some scheduled) but bear in mind I might not be actively responding to lots of messages, especially when baby arrives.

For my regular walking clients, I’ll be in touch in February next year to get everything set back up, with a view to restarting in March. I would like to thank Louise at who walks my own dog and I trust whole heartedly for covering some of my dogs whilst I'm off. Very much appreciated ❤️

Training services should also resume in spring 2027 🌼🌸🌺

I may not have taken home the win, but I had an incredible time at the National Pet Awards with - one of my biggest cheerleaders! It was such a privilege to be surrounded by so many amazing Scottish pet business owners, and to be shortlisted alongside such talented trainers truly meant a lot.

I’m so grateful to whoever nominated me and to everyone who took the time to vote. The support and recognition have been genuinely heartwarming.

A huge congratulations to Precious Paws Groomers and on winning your categories—it was lovely celebrating the night together!
