THE CALENDAR COMPETITION HAS CLOSED:

Our annual calendar competition is now closed. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has entered photos of their gorgeous cats.

We now have to choose just 15 winners from the hundreds of entries we have received - and it won't be easy! Winners will be announced in approximately 2 weeks time.

Don't forget, that we also choose our annual Facebook banner star from our calendar entries, so even if your cat doesn't make it into our calendar, they may end up gracing our page for 2027. We will announce the banner star on New Year's Day.

LITTLE WAIFS:

Introducing 12 week old Derry and Dandy, our latest Little Waifs.

These poor little boys were found cowering in an alleyway, thin, dirty and frightened.

Since coming into our care, they have put on weight and condition, and they are sweet, friendly and playful little lads.

What they need now is a real lifetime home, where they will be special members of the family.

WAIF OF THE WEEK - VALENTINO NEEDS A HOME:

He is currently being fostered by lovely people, and this is what they have to say about him:

"We have been fostering this sweet cat for about 3 months. He was a stray Tom who was very nervous when he first came to us, having probably been kicked about a bit in his previous life – limpy, missing a tooth and absolutely hiss/spit terrified.
But he is now the MOST sweet, chatty, affectionate boy you could meet and is desperate for a proper family to call his own.
He has been neutered, vet checked, vaccinated and chipped. He has a slight limp, which we believe is where he’s recovered from an old injury and it’s left him a bit crumpled, and he’s currently carrying a few extra pounds due to his confinement in our bathroom!
We believe he would be happiest as an only cat. He is so desperate for security and human contact that he is giving our existing cats rather too much side eye – which is really the only reason we can’t keep him ourselves.
We genuinely think he will become someone’s friend for life.
He will be rehomed via Rolvenden Cat Rescue (Registered Charity No: 1141631) but can be viewed at ours in Cranbrook, Kent".

CALENDER COMPETITION CLOSES 4TH SEPTEMBER!

You have until 4th September to submit photos of your gorgeous cats, and thank you to everyone who has entered so far.

You can enter as many times as you like, and you can submit photos on Facebook, via messenger or by email to [email protected]

Once the competition closes, we will choose 15 winners to feature in our 2027 calendar The Joy of Cats. We will announce the winners by the middle of Sepember. Winners will receive their packs by mid November.

RCR STAR!

Admin apologies for the week of silence, but we are back with a gorgeous new Star :)

This lovely boy is Sultan, a 3 year old brown ticked tabby. He is a friendly lad and he is waiting for a loving forever home after a harsh time struggling to survive on the streets. He would like to be the only cat, so that he doesn't have to share his humans.

SCAMMERS ARE BACK!

The scammers have been back on our page, posting fake t-shirt deals etc. and wasting everyone's time.

Please don't ever engage with them, and if you spot them before we do, please let us know on Facebook messenger so we can block them. Please don't involve Ruth directly, as she has too much to do at the centre caring for cats and kittens.

RURAL PAST TIMES COUNTRY SHOW EVENT:

We will be at the Rural Past Times weekend at Horns Cross on 8th and 9th of August 2026.

We will have a charity stall there on each day, where we will be raising much needed funds. We will also be on hand to give advice on various cat and kitten related issues.

We hope to see you there - you will find us in the charity stalls area, and every purchase you make from our stall, helps to feed and care for cats and kittens.

Rural Past Times support many small local charities, and are a fantastic organisation.

Rural Past Times is a family friendly show and this year will be the 14th show that we have held. It is a working weekend with areas for Heavy Horses, Working Tractors, stationary engines, display ring, tractor and trailer rides and live music, just to mention a few. ITS COMPETITION TIME!!

Yes, its calendar competition time again and our competition is officially open! We need photos of your gorgeous cats, so we can choose 15 lucky winners to feature in our 2027 annual calendar.

You can enter as many times as you like until the competition closes on Friday 4th September. Your cat/s do not need to have come from us, they just need to be loved pets. Winners will be announced by 14th September 2026.

Please make sure that you remember to provide your cat's name/s, and please let us have your name and address in case your cat is shortlisted - (send this by private message or by email). You can enter via email at [email protected] or on Facebook.

UPDATE: Lovely Cassie has now been happily homed.

CASSIE IS STILL WAITING:

This gorgeous 1 year old, petite young lady has been waiting for 3 months for a real home.

She is the sweetest girl, gentle, playful, affectionate and super friendly, but she has been overlooked.

She is suitable for a variety of loving homes, and she is available as a single cat, although she does get on with other cats.

They have come into our care from a home, and they are sweet, affectionate and friendly. They are bonded, so will need to be homed together.
