Farm Vet Network

After today we will never look at a drum of FAM 30 the same again! We learnt there is much more to its production than we ever realised.

Some of our vets and vet techs had a superb trip to the Evan’s Vanodine factory near Preston, the manufacturers of many disinfectants, detergents, dairy hygiene products and teat dips sold worldwide.

It was fascinating to see the extensive laboratories where quality control, product research and microbiology take place along with the production and storage facilities.

Barry Heaton and Josh Burrows presented to us on the importance of using detergents before disinfecting, dilution rates, kill times and the importance of using the correct dairy wash out chemicals depending on the set up and water hardness. The science behind teat dips session also highlighted the amount of work and investment Evan’s Vanodine put into thoroughly testing and proving their products work, some of them being registered to VMD standard as a veterinary medicine.

Thank you so much for having us and for your extremely kind hospitality.
