A warm welcome to our newest artist – Gillian Swaile

We are absolutely delighted to introduce Gillian Swaile to the Wild at Art Studio family. Gillian is a Scottish printmaker living and working in the wild, dark-sky landscapes of Northumberland National Park.

Using traditional linoleum, specialist hand tools and linseed oil ink, Gillian hand carves and hand prints every single linocut she creates. It's a slow, skilled, wonderfully old-fashioned craft, and the results speak for themselves.

Gillian draws her inspiration from the vast night sky above and the wildlife on her doorstep – with a particular soft spot for the brown hare (and honestly, once you see her hares, you'll understand why.
Her beautiful hand-printed work is in store now, and it's even better in person. Pop in and see it for yourself.

We had a lovely visit from one of our talented artists, Jason Chamberlain, today. He popped in with some beautiful new pieces for Wild at Art Studio, including this stunning close-up horse portrait — just look at that incredible detail and expression captured in charcoal.

Jason's ability to bring out the character and personality of each animal he draws is what makes his work so special. We're thrilled to have more of his pieces in the shop for you to see in person.

Today, we welcomed the King — the first royal visit to Jedburgh in 20 years.

He spent time with some of our High Street neighbours, Briggsy's Quality Butchers , Stems of Jedburgh, and the Jedburgh Chocolate House next door to us, as part of the Jethart Callant's Festival celebrations. We were delighted to send a small gift along, even though we weren't able to meet him ourselves this time (next time, Your Majesty, the kettle's on! ☕).

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make today happen. If you were out and about for the visit, we'd love to hear what you thought. And if you're passing by, pop in and say hello — we're always glad of the company.

The start of the Ride Out brought such a brilliant buzz to our town —smiles everywhere, and that real sense of community that makes Jedburgh so special.

Today I was out in the field learning how to survey land to monitor and help protect our local wildlife. 🌿

Wild at Art Studio has always been about more than the art on our shelves and walls. We celebrate local and UK wildlife through every piece we sell — but the mission runs deeper than that. A percentage of our profits will go directly to wildlife support and rescue, and right now I'm on the ground searching for the right local wildlife charities to partner with — because every step counts when it comes to safeguarding the animals and habitats we love.

This is just the beginning....

I'm committing my time, my passion, and this business to wildlife support and rescue. The goals are big. The work starts now. And every one of you who supports Wild at Art Studio is part of it. 🐾
