A milestone like this is really a reflection of the people who make Flowerland what it is — our wonderful team, our ever-changing nursery and, most importantly, the customers and community who continue to support us.

There’s lots happening at Flowerland as we slowly transition from summer into autumn.

Our bedding plants are still putting on a colourful show, and it’s the perfect time to refresh your hanging baskets and containers for a little late-summer colour. Meanwhile, autumn is starting to arrive, with warm autumn shades, spring-flowering bulbs, rustic tin, terracotta and all those cosy garden touches we love.

It’s also a great time to start thinking about mulching and composting — getting your soil ready for the colder months and making the most of what your garden has to offer. And, of course, autumn wouldn’t be complete without a cosy coffee at the garden centre while you have a wander around.

If you’re thinking about spring colour, now is the time to start planting your bulbs. Our spring-flowering bulb delivery has just landed at both Bourne End and Iver, with plenty of varieties to choose from.

A few things to keep in mind when planting: choose a sunny or partially shaded spot with good drainage, plant your bulbs at around two to three times their own height, and make sure the pointed end is facing upwards. Give them a good watering after planting, particularly if the soil is dry.

Once they’re in the ground, there isn’t much more to do. The bulbs will settle in through autumn and winter before putting on their spring display.

Save this guide for when you’re planting, and pop into Bourne End or Iver to see what’s just arrived.

Get creative this autumn with Lindsay from By Harry & Guy, back at Flowerland for another fun and relaxed lino printing workshop.

Learn the basics of lino carving, then create your own autumn-inspired design and hand-print it onto a tea towel to take home.

No previous experience needed and beginners are very welcome. All materials and refreshments are included!
