I spent a lot of time reading, comparing and researching.
Here are 6 Brands that I looked into, 4 of which my maine c***s have tried - and 2 of them I continue to feed to my cats.
( They are on combination of wet and dry food )

My top two choices. I feed both these foods to my cats.
Eden is suitable for all ages. But I rotate them, as they are both very similar nutritionally.
Both are exceptionally high in quality, with high levels of animal-based protein, excellent meat/fish ingredients, good fats and strong nutritional profiles.
๐๐๐๐ง: fantastic animal-protein percentage, omega-3 and added joint support. Slightly low on taurine , but as my cats often enjoy chicken hearts as a treat - not a problem. ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ - ๐๐ ๐ค๐ ยฃ๐๐

๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐ - currently we buy Chicken and pomegranate: excellent chicken protein, very good DHA/EPA and a great mineral balance. ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ - ๐ ๐ค๐ ยฃ๐๐

This is a cold- pressed cat food, with a cylindrical, rod-shaped pellet design rather than traditional extruded kibble. so may not be liked by many cats because of that.
Very high animal protein - higher than in all of these brands, good taurine, B vitamins, folate and green-lipped mussel. I really like this one, too.

Well known brand. Excellent variety of meat, fish, organs and eggs, with good taurine and DHA/EPA. ๐๐ฎ๐ญ ๐๐ฑ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ฏ๐ and has more plant/legume ingredients than my top two. So I do not buy it.

A good, high-quality chicken-based food with good protein, low fibre and plenty of taurine.
Just not quite as impressive overall as others, but still good food. In my opinion, pricey for what it is.

This was my go-to brand until they changed the recipe early this year adding more chickpeas.
Still decent option with salmon, turkey, taurine, folate and a good vitamin/mineral package. However, it has more plant protein/fibre and a lower overall animal-protein contribution than my top choices.
