I’m Katie, founder of Home and Hound 🏡🐕

I’ve looked after dogs for more than 10 years and have experience with a range of breeds. I have attended lots of training / behavioural learning to develop my skills and love walking / caring for your best furry friends as if they were my own. I’ve had family dogs since childhood so I understand the commitment, time and patience needed in raising puppies,

training effectively and that extra TLC needed for older dogs too. My approach to caring for your furry companions will be bespoke to your usual routine so that every animal in my care feels as comfortable as possible. I offer a range of services including:

🐾 Drop In Visits

📍I am based in Hitchin but I also cover Baldock, Letchworth, Stevenage and the surrounding villages.

From time to time, it’s important for us to take stock of just how far we’ve come! 📈

Less than two years ago, I was signed off from my job with burnout and was in the depths of depression.

I felt like I had no direction in life and that I was a failure.

In those moments, I couldn’t see how things were going to change, but I kept putting one foot in front of the other… literally 👣

I spent two weeks at my Mum’s caring for our new Springer Spaniel puppy, Pippin and realised that time out walking in nature was medicine for me.

I took a huge leap of faith and quit my job to build something of my own behind the scenes, I started dog sitting around other commitments at first and built a business from the ground up.

Now I get to do what I love every single day and I will NEVER take that for granted.

Gratitude always not only for the belief I had in myself but for those around me, including my amazing customers for believing in me too 🙏🏼✨

We recently achieved one whole year since H&H began, and what an incredible journey it has been! 🌪️

What started with a passion for providing personalised, trusted and friendly pet care has grown into something more special than I could ever have imagined. Every walk, every cuddle, every house sit, every wagging tail and happy purr has helped shape this business into what it is today 🥰
