HEATWAVE🔥🔥
Please ensure you are keeping safe with your pups in this hot weather, we are expecting temperatures in the high twenties.
🐾Avoid walking your dog during the day, walks in the morning or evening when it’s cool.
🐾Provide your dog with shade, somewhere cool for them to go.
🐾Don’t allow them to over exercise.
🐾 Ensure they have cool water available
Heat stroke is a risk, here are a few signs to look out for:
🐾 Excessive panting
🐾 Dribbling
🐾 Collapsing
🐾 Drowsiness
🐾 Vomiting
🐾 Diarrhoea
If you suspect your dog has heatstroke please contact your vet immediately, you can also:
🐾 Stand your dog in the bath and rinse them down with cool water(not cold as this can send them into shock)
🐾 provide them with small amounts of water to drink
🐾 Move them into cool/shaded area
🐾 lie them on a wet towel/blanket
❗️Don’t put a cool towel over them as this can trap the heat
❗️If your dog is heavily panting, DO NOT allow your dog to have a big drink. This can cause dangerous stomach bloating. Allow small amounts only until they’ve settled.
