MGH Sports Horses is based at Lucy Wiegersma's Warren Farm in Devon UK. The prefix 'MGH' is an abbreviation of Mullenaglogh, Padraig McCarthy's townsland home in Ireland. Together we breed, produce, and sell quality event horses and showjumpers, most of which are Irish Sport Horses. Our clients range from professional eventers and showjumpers to keen amatuers of all ages.

Some Exciting Breeding News!

We recently sent one of our best young breeding mares, MGH Agnes Browne (Aganix du Seigneur x Viancara VDL - uterine sister of MGH Zabaione) to GeneTech UK for an OPU and ICSI session.

Out of 11 oocytes collected, three high-quality embryos were successfully created, frozen, and are now safely stored, ready for transfer into a recipient mares next season.

A huge thank you to the team at GeneTech UK for their expertise and care throughout the process. We’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds for these exciting Catoki x MGH Agnes Browne combinations!

Beautiful 2yo filly by Casalou PS (Casallco x Quickstar) x Luidam mare that jumped 1.40m level. Her half brother is competing at 4* eventing. Great type and mover. Top prospect for jumping or eventing.

Yesterday we took some 4yo's to Chard for their first show. We were delighted with this homebred filly, who was purchased by Paul and Clare Voller as a foal. She is by the holsteiner stallion Chincero out of a Puissance x Horos XX dam.

We are VERY VERY excited about this new arrival. A two year old TB filly by Rock King! Rock King is the dam sire of some of the best event horses of our generation, including Lordships Graffalo and Colorado Blue, as well as a plethora of other top event horses, the likes of Chilli Knight, Menlo Park, Balham Mist, Penco's Crownn Jewel, King Albert, and Calvin. She will begin her breeding career here next year, and with the elasticity and movement that she shows, we believe she has the potential to be a fantastic breeder. Massive thanks to Sher breeder, Sarah Bullen, for giving us the opportunity to purchase this very special filly!

And we're off! And we are excited by the arrival of a filly by Ermitage Kalone out of MGH Prima Ballerina (Casago x Acobat II x Nimmerdor). The foal was carried by a recipient mare, as 6yo Prima Ballerina, who is now owned in partnership with , has started her competition career.

What a fantastic young mare. Three weeks riding and this 4yo is already showing such ability and willingness. She is by Ganesh Hero (Gemini XX x Diamant) out of one of our best mares, Estaminka van het Gerendal Z (Emilion x Topas). Estaminka is a sibling of several top jumpers including Lily Keenan's world cup winner Agana van het Gerendal. She is also dam of the promising 8yo stallion Alex van het Gerendal.
