Happy National Dog Day! 🐾🤎

I’ve had the pleasure of a few drop-ins with these gorgeous faces recently and honestly… how lucky am I?! 🥹

Still can’t quite believe I get to call spending my days looking after dogs a ‘job’. Getting to know all their different little personalities, being trusted to care for them and being greeted by these faces is everything to me!

Very grateful that this is what I get to do. 🤎🐾

Happy National Dog Day to all of my lovely four-legged clients past, present & future! 🫶🏼

✨ Exciting news! ✨

Paws On Sea is growing! 🐾🏡

Over the past year I’ve absolutely loved caring for your pets, and I’m so grateful for all the support you’ve shown my little business.

Some of you may already know that alongside Paws On Sea, I’ve also been working as a professional domestic cleaner for the past 2 years. During that time, I’ve realised how much I enjoy helping people not only care for their pets, but also making life that little bit easier at home.

So I’m really excited to announce that Paws On Sea is expanding into Home & Pet Services! 🧡

Some of the services I’ll now be offering:

🐾 30-minute solo walks (or multiple dogs from the same household)
🐶 Pet drop-in visits
🐱 Cat & small animal visits
🏡 Home Reset Visits
🌿 Plant watering & bringing in post/parcels
📮 Home & holiday checks

Home Reset Visits are perfect if you just need an extra pair of hands. It doesn’t have to be a weekly cleaner or a full house clean - every visit is completely tailored to your needs. Whether it’s putting a wash on, changing the bedding, emptying the dishwasher, tidying up, or simply helping you get back on top of things, visits can be booked as a one-off or on a regular basis.

Perfect for:
🧡 Busy homes
👨‍👩‍👧 Busy parents & families
🧠 Neurodiverse households
🧓🏼 Elderly pet owners
⏰ Shift workers
✈️ People away from home

With the summer holidays just around the corner, I’ll also be offering cat and small animal visits (feeding, cuddles, litter tray/cage cleans), home checks and holiday services while you’re away.

As always, I’m fully insured, DBS checked and canine first aid trained.

Thank you so much for supporting my little business. I can’t wait for this next chapter and to continue helping busy homes & happy pets. 🧡

If you’d like more information or to check availability, just pop me a message! 🐾

☀️HOT WEATHER PROTOCOL☀️

With the warmer weather forecast for next week, I just wanted to put a little note out regarding walks and visits 🐾

All walks next week will be subject to weather conditions on the day, including temperature, humidity, pavement temperatures, shade availability, and most importantly each individual dog’s ability to manage in the heat.

Some dogs cope much better than others, while puppies, senior dogs, flat-faced breeds, thick-coated dogs and dogs with medical conditions can be much more vulnerable in warmer weather.

Where needed, walks may be shortened, moved to shaded/sniff-focused walks, or swapped to drop-ins, garden visits, enrichment or indoor play sessions to keep dogs safe and comfortable 💛

Any clients affected by changes will be contacted individually ahead of their walk/visit where possible.

As always, your dogs’ safety and wellbeing comes first 🐾

☀️HOT PAVEMENT WARNING☀️

Yes, even on warm days, in certain conditions, pavements can become hot enough to cause pain, discomfort and even burn your dog’s paws. Although you may think your dog’s paw pads are quite tough, it’s important to remember that they are still made of skin and can be just as sensitive as the bottom of your feet.

On sunny days, pavements can often be deceptively hot and will usually be much warmer than the air outside. Dark and dense pavements easily absorb heat from the sun and are good at keeping hold of it and releasing it slowly. Natural surfaces, including grass, tend to be much cooler, as plants release water to help cool themselves down.

🔸HOW TO CHECK🔸
The best way to tell if a pavement is too hot for your dog to walk on is to place the back of your hand on the pavement for seven seconds. If it’s too painful for your hand, then it’s too painful for your dog’s paws.

If you notice that your dog is limping, looking uncomfortable or whimpering, then look at the bottom of their paws and check the temperature of the pavement with the back of your hand. If your dog’s paws look red, swollen or blistered then it’s important that you quickly take them off the hot pavement and contact your vet for advice as soon as possible.
