It’s nearly that time of year already! 🎇
With bonfire night around the corner, we know it can be a nerve wracking time for some of our furry friends, and also for us owners who want to help ease their anxiety.
If you have any worries about your pets during firework season, we are here to help. Our vet team see pets each year in the run up to bonfire night and can provide support. Please contact our reception team if you would like to see us!
Here are some ways you can help at home:
🎆Create a safe, dark space they can retreat to
🎇Play some calm noise in your home, such as classical music or have the TV on a louder volume
🎆Close curtains and windows to ensure sound and bright light is as minimal as possible
🎇Stay relaxed and calm, as pets will look to you for reassurance
🎆Keep dogs on a lead outside, incase they are startled and try to flee
🎇Keep cats indoors
If you have a new puppy or kitten, de-sensitising them early can also be a great idea to avoid future anxiety. You can learn more below following the dogs trust link.
