Every tool we’ve created, imagined and brought to you started the same way - on the grooming table.

The Coat has, and will continue to bring you innovation first, whether it’s the hybrid scissor, the pointed hybrid scissor, the lift comb, the 3/4 comb, the redesign of the forgotten 90s triangle brush or even the way we have packaged for 3 1/2 years, our products and ideas have blown up and been popularised over the UK industry.

All designs are worked on and tested by Verity Hardcastle, a Master Groomer who uses them daily, because tools should do more than look the part - they should perform where it matters most.

Through real clients. Real challenges. Real results. We bring you creativity, innovation with a big dollop of love and gratitude.

People see just the finished product... the scissors on the website, the comb in your hand or the brush on your table.

What they don't always see are the sketches, the samples, the testing, the tweaking, the changing, and sometimes the starting all over again.

Every product at The Coat starts the same way - with a thought of "there must be a better way to do this."

Then comes the fun part. Testing it on real dogs, in real grooming situations, on real working days.

Some ideas make it. Some don't.

But every single one is put through its paces before it ever reaches your grooming table.

So here's a little glimpse behind the scenes 💛 The creating, the designing, the testing, and occasionally the muttering when something isn't quite right yet 😅

Because innovation doesn't happen by accident - it happens because we're always looking for ways to make grooming better.
