This week has been one of the hardest I’ve had in a long time.

Sadly, I said goodbye to three very special dogs. One came to me in such a heartbreaking condition that, after speaking with the owner, we contacted Dogs Trust. They did everything they could, but the kindest decision was to let her go peacefully. I also had two lovely customers tell me that this would be their dogs’ final groom before they crossed the rainbow bridge because of cancer.

It reminded me that dog grooming is about so much more than haircuts.

I have the privilege of watching so many of your dogs grow from playful puppies into gentle old souls. I celebrate their milestones, notice the little changes as they age, and build a bond with each and every one of them. Whether I’ve groomed your dog once or for years, they matter to me.

When one of them passes away, I genuinely feel that loss. My heart breaks alongside yours. It’s a reminder that behind every appointment is a much-loved family member.

Thank you for trusting me with your dogs. Caring for them is a privilege I never take for granted, and I promise to always treat every single one with the love, patience and kindness they deserve.

To all the dogs I’ve had the honour of grooming, especially those we’ve recently had to say goodbye to—you leave paw prints on my heart forever. ❤️🐾
