🏡 Why don’t we invite clients into our home? 🐾

Following a recent post we have read, we thought we’d explain why we have this policy at The Wild Dog Ltd.

We’re a fully licensed home boarding provider (Boarding Licence No. 590641), and our aim is to offer dogs a home environment rather than a kennel. Before our licence was granted, the local council carried out inspections to ensure our home, facilities and procedures met the required welfare and licensing standards, giving owners peace of mind that their dogs are staying in a safe and suitable environment.

By choosing home boarding, we’re opening our family home to your dogs so they can relax as part of our daily life. However, because this is also where our family lives, we choose not to invite people we don’t know inside our home.

All of our meet & greets are completely free and take place in our secure paddocks and gardens, giving you the opportunity to meet us, ask any questions, and see where your dog will spend their time.

Sadly, we’ve learnt through past experience that not everyone has good intentions, so this policy is simply about protecting our family’s privacy and safety while continuing to provide the best possible care for your dogs.

We completely understand that this arrangement won’t be for everyone, and that’s absolutely okay. Every owner has different preferences, and it’s important that you choose the service that is the right fit for you. There are some fantastic boarding providers and kennels out there who may be better suited to your needs, and we genuinely wish you and your dog the very best.

Please note: When you arrive, you may hear our working dogs barking. They’re highly trained working dogs, who do need to be kennelled and also simply let us know when someone is on the yard. Please don’t be alarmed, and if you’d like to meet them, we’re always happy to introduce you - this also allows us the space in our home to welcome your fur babies.

Thank you to everyone who understands and supports our family business. Your trust allows us to continue providing a safe, loving and licensed home-from-home for every dog in our care. ❤️🐾

Today is a post we never wanted to write.

We are absolutely heartbroken to hear of the passing of one of our much-loved regular guests, Lola. 💜🌈

Lola wasn’t just another boarding dog to us – she was part of The Wild Dog family. From the moment she arrived, she would settle straight in, bringing her gentle nature, sweet face, and those beautiful eyes that could melt anyone’s heart. She was a pleasure to care for and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

We feel incredibly privileged to have been trusted with her care over the years and to have shared so many wonderful memories with her. The house won’t quite feel the same without her.

Our thoughts are with Lola’s family during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for allowing us to be part of her life – it was truly an honour.

Run free over the rainbow bridge, beautiful girl. You’ll always be remembered, loved, and missed. 🌈🐾💜

Meet our beautiful girl, Isla the White Shepherd! 🤍

Here’s a little fun fact… 4–5 years ago, Isla was the very first dog we ever welcomed for boarding. 🥹 Looking back now, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come, and it’s all thanks to wonderful dogs (and owners!) like her who put their trust in us from the very beginning.

Isla has been part of our journey since day one, and we’ve never looked back. ❤️

She has the biggest personality, keeps us entertained every time she stays, and let’s be honest… she absolutely knows how to work the camera! 📸✨
