THIS is what reactivity training should look like! 💚

No big reactions. No dramatic moments. No expectation that every dog needs to say hello. Just calm choices, plenty of space, and a dog learning that seeing other dogs doesn’t have to be a big deal 🐶

Yesterday, Max joined me for his 2nd follow-up session, and I honestly couldn’t have been happier with him! 🥰 We must have seen at least 15 dogs throughout our session, and he was fantastic from start to finish.

He made lovely choices, stayed calm around other dogs and even politely greeted a couple when they unexpectedly came into his space

And that’s what progress looks like! 🙌 Not necessarily ignoring every dog or getting everything perfect, but being able to navigate the world more calmly, make better choices and feel more comfortable in situations that may once have been difficult.

Reactivity training isn’t about forcing dogs to cope. It’s about giving them the space, skills and confidence to make better decisions for themselves 💚

Sometimes, the best sessions are the ones where nothing particularly exciting happens… and that’s exactly the point! 🐾

Meet Freyja! 🐾

Freyja has joined her dad, Link, on his ongoing Pawsome Progress package to get her training journey off to the best possible start.

With Link still navigating adolescence, now is the perfect time to focus on building a strong relationship with both dogs, creating good habits, and helping everyone learn how to communicate and work together as a team.

We’ll be focusing on confidence, engagement, life skills and setting both dogs up for success as they continue to grow and develop.

Freyja has already stolen a few hearts with those beautiful eyes, and we’re looking forward to watching her progress alongside Link over the coming months 💚

Meet Cassie! 🐶

Cassie recently started her Basics & Beyond programme and has already made a fantastic impression. Over the coming weeks we’ll be focusing on confidence building, loose lead walking, recall, settling calmly and all the skills she needs to become a well-rounded companion.

🐾 Everyone say hello to Roy! 🐾

This handsome little Border Terrier is just 11 weeks old and has recently joined his new family. ❤️

Roy will be joining our Pathway to Success classes once he’s fully vaccinated, and I can’t wait to watch him grow in confidence, learn new skills and start his training journey.

The first few weeks with a puppy are about so much more than teaching sits and downs. Building confidence, creating positive experiences and helping them learn about the world around them are all incredibly important foundations for the future.

I’m looking forward to sharing Roy’s progress as he works his way through the Pathway to Success programme. 🐶
