National Animal Welfare Trust Berkshire

National Animal Welfare Trust Berkshire The National Animal Welfare Trust Berkshire is an animal rescue and rehoming farm. Our centre is home to both field animals and domestic pets.

Known locally as Trindledown Farm, we are also open to the public with shops and the chance to walk around an active rescue centre. Set in 10 acres on the edge of the Lambourn Downs, Trindledown Farm (NAWT's Berkshire branch) is dedicated exclusively to caring for those animals enjoying the twilight years of their lives. Elderly animals make great companions for people looking to rehome a pet and

can often suit those with the most sedentary of lifestyles. We rehome around 100 birds, cats, dogs and field animals at our Berkshire centre every year. Every animal has been individually assessed and cared for by our experienced and dedicated staff. All animals are vet-checked and assessed before being rehomed. Please be aware that we are continuing to receive extremely high volumes of enquiries about all animals available for rehoming. With limited staffing recourse at our centres, we are only able to contact potential owners once they have been matched to an animal, which means we are not able to contact every person who completes a homing form. 🐾 Meet Hero! 🐾

Today, Hero had a great time using his nose and his brain to find hidden items around his room. We tucked his favourite things away inside different boxes and let him work out where they were. Safe to say he loved the challenge! 🐶📦

It's important to remember that keeping dogs mentally stimulated is just as important as physical exercise. Activities that encourage sniffing, searching, problem-solving, and using their natural instincts can help reduce boredom, build confidence, and leave them feeling happily tired.

These kinds of brain games are especially useful on rainy days when a long walk isn't possible, or when your dog simply isn't keen to venture out into the weather. A short scent-finding session indoors can provide a surprising amount of enrichment and fun.

Hero certainly earned his rest after this one! ❤️🐾

At our rescue centre , training is about so much more than teaching skills—it's about building trust, confidence, and positive relationships.

This video captures one of our resident dogs having a great time with one of our Animal Care Assistants. Having fun while working with dogs is incredibly important; when learning is enjoyable, dogs are more engaged, relaxed, and willing to succeed.

It also highlights something we're very proud of—our team genuinely loves what they do. Their dedication, patience, and enthusiasm shine through every day, and that's what helps achieve such positive results for the dogs in our care.

A happy dog, a passionate team, and plenty of fun along the way! 🐾❤️

BREAKING NEWS: Two inmates were caught attempting a daring prison break this morning.

Their plan involved scaling the walls, looking adorable, and convincing everyone they are innocent.

The attempt failed when they got distracted by snacks and a nap. 😹

😹TURN THE SOUND UP 😹

Funny how kittens can make the most ridiculous licking noises and it's the cutest thing you've ever heard...

But if a human sat next to you making those same sounds, you'd suddenly understand why noise-cancelling headphones were invented. 😹
