💙 You know when you see something and immediately think… my dog NEEDS that! 🤭

That’s exactly what happened when Peggy Sue’s lovely mum spotted my cornflower blue crocheted sailor bow.

She fell in love with the colour and knew it would be the perfect little birthday treat for her gorgeous girl. And looking at these photos, I think she made a rather good choice! 😍

What makes this review even lovelier is that her mum had tried crocheting herself, so she really appreciated the work that goes into making something like this.

Every stitch is done by hand, and knowing that something I’ve made has become part of someone’s special celebrations means so much 🥹

And a 10/10 review? Well, I couldn’t ask for much more than that! 💚

It’s official…

I’m a professional dog-mum tear-jerker 🥹😂

won my design competition last year and after we’d both been poorly, her prize took a little longer to come together than I’d hoped.

So here’s a little peek at how it finally came together…

I wanted this to feel like Betsi, so I drafted a scalloped collar just for her and brought in her favourite green and yellow 💛💚

The little hand-embroidered flowers pick up the other colours in the Liberty print, which is called “Floral Rebellion” - rather fitting for my ongoing campaign against boring dog bandanas 🤭👊

And of course, it wouldn’t be one of mine without the signature frill 😍

The best bit was finally seeing Betsi wearing it… and then came the message from her mum 🥹

When I get messages like this, it makes it all feel so worthwhile 💚

October looks rather lovely from here 🍂🤎

There’s something about this time of year that I absolutely love…

The changing colours, crisp autumn air, cosy afternoons and all those little things that make this season feel so special 🍁🧡

I’m currently knee-deep in getting The Autumn Ramble, my latest collection of handmade dogwear, finished. Fabrics, sewing and deadlines are taking up rather a lot of my time! 🤭🧵

But there’s always a moment for a little autumn adventure with my favourite girl 💕

A bit of fresh air, some sunshine and a chance to enjoy the world outside my sewing room.

And let’s be honest, Bonnie doesn’t care how long my to-do list is, she’s just happy we’re out making another memory together 🥹

This one’s been a long time coming 😍

Betsi-bear the Cockapoo won my design competition last year, but after we’d both been poorly, I’ve only just been able to make her prize.

I drafted a scalloped collar pattern especially for Betsi, using her favourite colours, green and yellow as my starting point. The Liberty print “Floral Rebellion” is finished with my signature frill and I picked out its colours in the hand-embroidered flowers.

I’ve been so excited to finally see Betsi wearing it… although I’m still a bit sad to send it off as it’s the perfect size for Bonnie too 🤭💚

I can be perfectly sensible with money… right up until I see something Bonnie would love, look adorable in or quite clearly needs 🤭

And somehow “but it’s for the dog” feels like a completely reasonable justification every single time obviously 🤪

Florals? For a dog bandana? Groundbreaking 😂🌸

Okay Miranda, hear me out… because this one was never going to be just florals 🥹

For this Work With Me Wednesday, I thought I’d take you properly behind the scenes of one-of-a-kind embroidered bandana.

It started with finding exactly the right fabric - a soft blush pink imperial batiste, once left over from christening outfits and no longer being used. Then came a completely bespoke pattern, scaled for Betsy’s teeny 21cm neck!

And only then could the stitching begin…

Branches, leaves, lavender florals, tiny buds, woven flowers and those big dimensional roses… all embroidered by hand, one side at a time.

Then I did the whole thing again 😮‍💨

Add in vintage lace that had to disappear completely inside the seam before being turned out 😰, hidden poppers and satin ribbon to give Betsy’s mama the tie-on look she wanted… and suddenly you can see why something this small can take quite so much work.

But that’s the bit I love 😍

Taking something no longer wanted and turning it into something spectacular made for one particular special little dog - down to the very last stitch. 🥹🌸

Would you have guessed how much went into making her?

And yes… I’m still voting that florals can be groundbreaking 😂
