Gonerby Dog Park OPENING 1st NOVEMBER Safe, secure, fully enclosed 2 acre dog exercise field, ideally situated on the edge of Great Gonerby, Nr Grantham.

Hillside location with fantastic views of Bellmount Tower and Belton Park. 4 minutes from A1 Gonerby Moor Interchange.

The pond has been treated and tested and is all good for use. Yippee!

There is some green algae (not nasty blue green), which I’m trying to remove with the net, (organic matter that is safe for dogs) and barley straw.

If the straw is in when you arrive, please remove it so your dog doesn’t chew it and put it back in when you leave 🙏

The algae seems to bloom in seconds when it chooses to, so if it is very visible you may wish to either scoop it out with the net hung on the tree, or give the pond a miss until I’ve visited in the evening.

Who knew ponds were such hard work? But hey it’s worth it to see your dogs enjoying their time in it ♥️

Exciting news!!

So, the weather is still going to be hot so please avoid very hot times! But…

I have literally just got confirmation of my insurance being approved for the dog pond starting from Saturday 23rd.

Ideally, I’d have waited a little longer so that the grass had taken but given the warmer weather this weekend, I want to get it open for you guys.

You’ll see that I’ve got some fence up to keep the dogs off the grass seed for now and you’ll also see that I’ve put blue dye in the pond to prevent any blue green algae forming. It is completely dog and wildlife/ fish/ insect/ human safe. The pond is currently about 60 cm deep - hopefully it will keep filling and I’ve tested it for nitrates and blue green algae and everything has come back clear.

Please do make sure that any dogs and kids are supervised in this area - please don’t let them in on their own, it is not a swimming pool for children or humans.

I hope you all have a wonderful bank holiday weekend.

Please if you’re in doubt, sit it out (in the shade of a cool house!).

I am desperately trying to get the pond insured in time for this weekend, but right now it isn’t open. I’ll let you know when I get the go ahead from the insurers 🤞🤞🤞🤞
