another scorching week with the dogs☀️ apologies to everyone who has had their walks cancelled/switched to visits during these heatwaves. bare with me! not long now till autumnal, cool walkies 🍂 ❤️

another wonderful (but hot!) dog sit with the stick monster, Bobbin, completed ✅ 💚
we’ve had a fun filled 2 weeks consisting of:
- stick hunting and destroying
- frozen lick mats + kibble foraging
- 5.30am walks around the meadows
- a ride around the farm with my horse
- plenty of early morning and late evening swimming sessions
and of course, lots of cuddles!!

when the heat means cancelling walks, i offer home visits as a safe alternative. but what do my home visits consist of?
- enrichment games. (snuffle mats, scatter feeding, puzzle games, retrieval games)
- indoor play
- water play (where applicable)
- toilet breaks
- water replenishment + feeding (if needed)
- fuss and cuddles!

it’s the first heatwave of 2026, so an important reminder to all clients:
‼️ALL walks are suspended once the temperature exceeds 23°C! ‼️everyone who’s slots are affected by the temps will be offered a home visit as a safe alternative where your dog will be let out to use the toilet and will receive cuddles and indoor play for a duration of your choice.
the dogs welfare is at the forefront of everything I do as their walker. no dog has ever died missing a walk, but millions have been lost to heatstroke.
and remember: overweight dogs, those with thick or dark coloured coats, brachycephalic breeds and elderly dogs are at a higher risk of overheating!
