A physio appointment to celebrate Fudge’s 13th birthday today! Don’t believe the sad face, Fudge was absolutely loving the turkey paste and treats she got for doing her exercises today and she is certainly loving her new lease of life!😍

Late night yesterday after a fascinating talk at Pride Veterinary Referrals all about Occult Tethered Cord Syndrome. The talk was hugely informative and helpful in informing the clinical reasoning of a physiotherapy treatment plan for these cases. As always it was fab to catch up with some colleagues too! Ali is a very special patient of mine and I am honoured to assist in her ongoing care. Hero paws - Life AFTER service everything you do is amazing, Ali is so lucky to have such an incredible team behind her, but of course she deserves nothing less than the best!! 🥇😍

🥳🐾 HAPPY RETIREMENT ANNIVERSARY, ALI! 🐾🥳

Today we're celebrating beautiful British Military Search Dog Ali 🇬🇧🐾

Ali spent her career serving with the British Army as an AES Search Dog, before retiring in 2020 at the very young age of just four.

Her early retirement came after she was diagnosed with a spinal condition, but with the right care, support and plenty of love, Ali has gone on to enjoy a happy, healthy life after service. ❤️

Not long after retiring, Ali also had a bit of an ouchy with one of her ears. To make sure the problem didn't return and cause her further trouble, she eventually had to say goodbye to it.

Thankfully, Ali made a fantastic recovery and is completely none the wiser! You'd barely even notice unless you really stared. 😂 Her hoomans even bought her a little snood to keep her cosy on those breezy days. 🥹

Today she's fit, healthy and — most importantly — ouchy free! 🥳

Ali's hooman, who works very closely within the Military Working Dog world, fell in love with her from the very first moment they met, so we think it's safe to say this pairing was always meant to be. ❤️

Now living her happily ever after alongside her wonderful humans and her RMWD brother Tiny, Ali is absolutely smashing retirement. 🐾🏡

Here's to many, many more happy and healthy retirement anniversaries to come, gorgeous girl.

You served your country.
Now it's your turn to simply enjoy life. 🇬🇧❤️🐾

Happy Retireiversery, Ali! 🥳

Please please ask me what my qualifications are! I will be proud to tell you that I have a Bsc (hons) in Veterinary Physiotherapy which required 3 years at university in full time education, 1 year placement in industry, many many hours writing assignments, a dissertation, learning anatomy, skills in clinical reasoning and how to safely and effectively assess cases and apply treatments. Furthermore, being a member of the NAVP requires me to keep up to date with CPD hours, which ensures that I am up to date with the latest developments in the industry and am able to adapt my practice to reflect this.

There are so many wonderful equine professionals out there, whom I’m fortunate enough to call colleagues, but please make sure that whoever you entrust with the care of your
horse (or dog!) is appropriately qualified to give them the care they need and deserve! Anyone who is qualified and practicing safely will be more than happy to share their qualifications with you!

An early date (in an attempt to beat the heat 🥵), with the gorgeous Mr Clover this morning. He’s looking fantastic for 20 years old, and he’s now been on my books for over 6 years since January 2020, when he was preparing to make his Novice ODE debut (which he absolutely bossed!). He has stepped down a few levels now and leads a slightly quieter pace of life, but he still smashed a double clear at a local ODE recently! 🌟

I have been treating this gorgeous boy for almost 7 years, and today was our last physiotherapy appointment together before he and his Mum move to their new home - I will miss them both very much.

I have loved watching their journey together and I have loved being a small part of their support team, helping to keep them on the road and support their progress through the levels! Best of luck for the future!

🐾💗 Please Welcome Phoebe! 💗🐾

Isn’t she just the prettiest toffee-latte coloured Frenchie you’ve ever seen? 😍

Today was a big day for Phoebe as she chose her very own pink bike and headed out for a short road test to see how she felt on wheels.

With the weather being so warm and humid, and Phoebe being a brachycephalic breed, we decided it was sensible to keep her session brief. The good news? She passed her learner driver’s assessment with flying colours and is all set to continue her mobility journey. 🚲✨

Phoebe was referred to us by a physiotherapist we absolutely adore and trust, so we know she is already surrounded by a fantastic support team and is in very good hands as she continues her recovery. ❤️‍🩹

We’re delighted to have helped with this part of her journey, and while she has an excellent team around her, Phoebe and her family know we’re always here if they ever need us.

Good luck, beautiful girl. We can’t wait to see where your wheels take you next. 🐾💕

Happy Birthday Lilly! 🎂

Lilly has been coming for physiotherapy treatment for the past few months to support her progress following stem cell treatment of hock osteoarthritis and to assist in management of some muscle pain around the hip. Lilly has come on in leaps and bounds throughout this time, and the owner has noticed many improvements in Lilly since we started treatment.

Lilly has also shown some objective improvements with a 3.5cm increase in gluteal muscle mass on the affected limb and reduction in lameness seen at her recent review on the gait analysis treadmill at MSK Vets.

What better way is there to spend your birthday than having a massage, swim and lots of squeezy cheese?🧀🌊🥰
