🎥 GEOFF KIRKWOOD AKA MANPOWER ANNOUNCES BBC2 FILMING IN NORTH SHIELDS
Geoff Kirkwood has revealed that Simon Reeve and a BBC2 film crew will be coming to North Shields next week as part of a major new series exploring communities across the UK.
The programme will feature King Street Social Club and the work being done through Are You Affiliated, shining a national spotlight on the town's growing reputation for culture, music and grassroots initiatives.
In a post shared on social media, Geoff called on supporters to attend the upcoming Marie Davidson + Accident Machine event on Friday 12 June, helping to ensure the audience on screen reflects the community that regularly supports independent music and events in North Shields.
"This is a massive opportunity for us to tell the story about what we do, and to give our own perspective on North Shields itself," he said.
With cameras rolling and millions of viewers expected to watch the series, it's another sign that people far beyond the North East are taking notice of what's happening here.
