Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of walking Buddy for the first time, what a character he is!

He was a superstar on his walk and even had a go with the flirt pole which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Heres hoping you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year and had lots of snuggles with your beautiful animals.

We certainly did! Here's Oli with one of his presents, he's not like Baxter and Milo, he doesn't need the present to be open to thoroughly enjoy it 🥰

Fetch-n-Footsteps is hoping to bring you some exciting news in the next few months! 👀

🌟 We hope 2026 brings you all lots of happiness, love and prosperity. 🌟

🎃🐾 Happy Howl-oween from the bewitching Bear Bear! 🐾🎃

Our favourite flat-coated floof has been out haunting the fields today — spreading spooky vibes and chasing imaginary ghosts ghost 👻

He’s got the look, the charm, and apparently a spell for unlimited treats (we’re taking notes). 👀🍪

Have a fang-tastic night everyone — keep the chocolate safely stashed, the doggos close, and the snacks flowing! 👻🧡

All the reasons to play tug with your dog!

All the reasons to play tug with your dog!

"Tug makes a dog aggressive"

Complete. Utter. Horse. P**p.

Here's why?

Playing tug stimulates the mesolimbic dopamine system. Crucial for motivation. Focus. Pleasure. Reinforces desired behaviours. Strengthens neural pathways. Assists in learning. Activates the basal ganglia in the brain. Responsible for habit formation. Motor learning. Better emotional control.

Repetitive tug play strengthens axonal connections within the prefrontal cortex and basal ganglia. Improving coordination. Improving impulse control.

Better focus. Better training.

Stronger neural pathways lead to faster decision-making and better behavioural responses.

Tug play increases oxytocin. Social Bonding. Your dog loves you more. Trusts you more. Oxytocin modulates the prefrontal cortex. Governing self regulation. Social behaviour. Reducing fear and anxiety.

Engages the hippocampus. A key brain region for memory. Spatial Awareness. Repeated tug play builds stronger neural connections. Improves learning retention. Environmental awareness. Motor coordination.

Wait...

There's more.

Tug play modulates cortisol. The primary stress hormone. Balancing arousal levels. Helping to regulate the autonomic nervous system. Preventing a dog from becoming overstimulated.

Tug increases serotonin levels. Supporting mood regulation. Building confidence.

Serotonin enhances emotional stability and impulse control. Preventing excessive reactivity. Greater mental health. Better sleep. Fewer injuries. Better fitness.

Still think tug makes your dog aggressive?
