People think dog trainers have perfect dogs.
We don't. We just know ours.
My shepherd was in season last week. Hackles up at things that wouldn't normally touch her. More on edge, more nervy, more jumpy.
My Goldie barely bleeds. Just goes whiny and miserable for a few days.
Generally We avoid the dog parks with crazy off lead dogs. Not because my dogs are a problem. Because I chose not to put them in those situations.
That's not a failure of training. That's just knowing your dog.
The difference isn't that my dogs are perfect. It's that I know what they need and I give it to them.
P.s - No I'm not walking my dogs in this heat!
