People think dog trainers have perfect dogs.

We don't. We just know ours.

My shepherd was in season last week. Hackles up at things that wouldn't normally touch her. More on edge, more nervy, more jumpy.

My Goldie barely bleeds. Just goes whiny and miserable for a few days.

Generally We avoid the dog parks with crazy off lead dogs. Not because my dogs are a problem. Because I chose not to put them in those situations.

That's not a failure of training. That's just knowing your dog.

The difference isn't that my dogs are perfect. It's that I know what they need and I give it to them.

P.s - No I'm not walking my dogs in this heat!

Honest truth about recall that most trainers won't say out loud.

For some dogs, food and relationship alone have a ceiling. When a high drive dog locks onto prey, they're not ignoring you. They physically cannot hear you. Everything goes into the chase.

If you want bombproof recall in those moments you need tactile communication at distance. That's what a properly conditioned e-collar does. Not a punishment. A tap on the shoulder from 200 metres away.

That's the honest answer.

Put your lick mat in the bin.

It's not enrichment. It's a babysitter. Fifteen minutes of quiet while you feel like you've done something for your dog.

Licking isn't engagement. It's a passive, repetitive motion that calms a dog the same way chewing the sofa does. It doesn't build a relationship. It doesn't teach decision making. And it doesn't teach him how to switch off on his own either.

Real enrichment isn't passive. It's off lead. Sniffing, running, covering ground the way the breed was built to. That's what actually builds a settled mind, not a mat on the kitchen floor.

Swap the lick mat for a real job and some proper freedom. Five minutes of structured work. Time off lead to just be a dog. Watch how differently he settles afterwards.

Stop buying tools that babysit. Start building a dog that engages.

Bobby.
Pushing boundaries in the home. Ignoring everything. Helping himself to whatever he fancied.

Not a bad dog. Just a dog with no structure and no reason to listen.
Four weeks later, calm, focused, and his owner has the tools to keep it that way.

That last bit matters. Molly has a busy household and still found the time to show up, do the sessions and put the work in between them.

That's what gets results. Not talent. Not experience. Just consistency.

The training doesn't stop when I leave. That's the whole point of the Reset.

Stop using "look at me" commands.

Your dog already knows you exist.

The problem isn't that he can't focus. It's that you've never given him a real reason to.

Here's how to fix that. Swipe through.

Teddy. Final session on the Dog Reset.
Service dog. But the moment he switched off from work he was an excitable little terror. Overstimulated, hard to settle, reactive to everything around him.
A calm mind doesn't just make a better pet. It makes a better working dog.
That's the reset.

Dudley. Final session on the Dog Reset.
Four weeks ago walks were a nightmare. Anything could set him off. You never knew what was coming.
Today we walked through town. Past everything. Loose lead the whole way.
He's not ignoring the distractions because he can't see them. He just doesn't care.
Four weeks. Right foundations. Owner who showed up and did the work every single day.
I just gave them the system.
If your dog is making every walk a battle
