🐸 What should an adult Pac-Man frog enclosure ACTUALLY look like?
For an adult Pac-Man frog, I’d be looking for 8 inches+ of suitable substrate so they have plenty of depth to completely bury themselves. 🌱
💧 Good drainage is essential — especially in a deeper setup. A proper drainage layer underneath the substrate helps prevent the lower levels from becoming permanently waterlogged. Keep the substrate damp and humid, but not soaking wet.
🌿 Add plenty of cover and clutter — live plants, leaf litter, cork, hides and other natural décor give your frog places to feel secure above ground, while still leaving a good amount of open floor space.
🥣 Include a large, shallow water dish that your frog can easily get in and out of, with fresh, dechlorinated water available at all times.
🌡️ Keep the enclosure appropriately warm and humid, with good ventilation so you’re maintaining humidity without creating stagnant, swampy conditions.
And remember: Pac-Man frogs are ambush predators, so floor space and usable substrate depth are far more important than giving them a tall enclosure they can’t really use.
Deep substrate + drainage + humidity + cover + clean water + good ventilation = a much better adult Pac-Man setup. 🐸💚
