There’s a cat groomer in Formby… Shhh 🤫 don’t tell the dogs! The last time I tried to groom this gorgeous boy, Teddy he became very stressed so I suggested his owner try gabapentin and that we try again…. What a difference it made today. Teddy was calm and relaxed and let me give him a proper seasonal glow-up. He really struggles with the length of his coat being a Persian, so a teddy cut keeps him in great condition and he is able to manage his coat himself. What a gorgeous boy! 😻

Did you know there’s a cat groomer in Formby? Shhhh don’t tell the dogs 🤫 Meet Twinkle: her family have no idea what she got up to while they were away on holiday. All they know is when they got back, she had stopped all self-care and had a matted bottom. Sometimes when Cats have a change of routine, they will stop Grooming themselves. Twinkle is a perfect example of where her matting wasn’t bad enough for veterinary intervention, but she wouldn’t let her owner near her with a brush. Lily is settling in and is being more confident around us. She’s curious about the smells of our other pets so this week we introduced her to our 9 year old make cat, Leo… they are now at the point where they are in the same room in short, supervised interludes where they mostly ignore each other. This is progress! The greatest challenge is yet to come: introducing her to our dog Waffle. He’s daft as a brush but Lily is not used to dogs so we will have to introduce him carefully… he’s liable to lumber over for a lick and she won’t appreciate that one bit 🤣🙈😻
