We found some cones on the field over the weekend, so decided to work on “around” with Frank.

This is something we’ve lightly touched on before, but probably pushed it a bit by me moving further back.

We’ll keep it closer next time and build it up.

Introducing Lilly

I thought now was a good time to introduce Lilly as she has featured on our page a few times now.

Lilly is my mum and dads dog who we have joint custody of 3 times a week 😂.

She is a 6 year old Springer Spaniel and I rarely admit it but she is the sweetest girl.

Her favourite things are birds, bird poo (she’s disgusting), rabbits, squirrels, cuddles and finding golf balls. She also loves Frank but not as much as he loves her.

I’m going to feature Lilly more on this page. We have things we want to work on. She is terrible with distractions (usually the flying kind) so my goal is to build her up to playing and focusing on me in busier places.

But mostly just having fun with her.

Frank’s never really been a fan of getting his toes dried / touched, so we turned it into a bit of a game instead.

It’s still not his favourite, but he’s a lot more relaxed with it now and knows he gets a little reward after (a play with the towel after).

Taking it at his pace and making it a bit easier for him.

Fixing Franks lead walking bad habits…

Stopping, sniffing, marking everything and pulling to get there (my bad for allowing it 🙃)

Quick bit of play before this to get him in the right headspace.

You’ll see a couple of corrections:

– pulling to a scent
– digging heels in to mark

Really happy with this so far as this is a place he often comes off lead.

Constantly telling him he’s a good / clever boy and the occasional marked reward.
