Two sisters. Two long lines. Endless learning. 🐕🐕

These two are proving that big breeds can have freedom without losing control. Long lines allow them to explore, sniff and enjoy their walk while still learning to check in, respond and stay engaged with me.

Training isn’t about keeping a dog by your side every second, it’s about teaching them to make good choices, even when they have more freedom.

Consistency, clear boundaries and meeting your dog’s needs will always beat force. 👊🐾

🐶 Puppy Training: Give Them The Best Start! 🐾

Bailey has been smashing his puppy training! 🐕✨

Today’s session focused on:
🐾 Loose lead walking
🐾 Building engagement
🐾 Staying calm around people and other dogs

The earlier you start training, the easier it is to build good habits that last a lifetime. Instead of waiting for unwanted behaviours to appear, we focus on teaching puppies how to make the right choices from the very beginning.

A calm, confident puppy grows into a calm, confident adult dog.

Hip dysplasia doesn’t mean your dog has to stop enjoying walks. 💙🐾

This blue Staffy is out on a Walk & Train session, keeping his mind engaged with calm, controlled exercise that’s kind to his joints.

🐾 Tips for managing hip dysplasia:
• Keep walks short and consistent
• Avoid high-impact exercise
• Choose softer ground where possible
• Use training and enrichment to tire the mind
• Keep them at a healthy weight

Every dog is different, so always work with your vet to find what’s best for them.

It’s okay to put your dog back on the lead.

Freedom isn’t a right, it’s earned.

If your dog stops listening, ignores recall, or makes poor choices, calmly clip the lead back on. It’s not a punishment; it’s part of training. Give them another chance when they’re ready to make better decisions.

Consistency builds reliable dogs. 🐾

🚫 Just because your dog is friendly doesn’t mean every dog wants to say hello.

If a dog is on a lead, don’t let your dog run over to them. It’s not only bad manners, it can also be dangerous.

That dog could be:
🐾 In training
🐾 Recovering from an injury
🐾 Nervous or reactive
🐾 Elderly or in pain
🐾 Simply not wanting to interact

Respect other dogs’ space and always ask before allowing your dog to approach.

A little bit of consideration goes a long way. 🐶

🌅 Just a Summer Evening Walk with Hudson 🐾

Not every walk has to be about training… but every walk is an opportunity to build your relationship.

This evening was all about letting Hudson enjoy being a dog while still checking in, making good choices, and staying engaged with me. Giving your dog freedom doesn’t mean having no boundaries, it means teaching them that staying connected with you is always worthwhile.

The more you invest in your dog, the more they’ll choose you, even with the world full of distractions.
