✨ Hillfire Lady ✨

I think this gorgeous girl has stolen a little piece of my heart! Just look at her 😍

I’m currently seeing Lady for regular maintenance sessions as part of her rehabilitation following a diagnosis of impinging dorsal spinous processes (kissing spines).

Lady is still in the early stages of her rehabilitation journey, but her owner is doing an incredible job, and it’s so rewarding to see the changes already. What a difference in this beautiful girl! 🤍

Changes in performance or behaviour can sometimes be subtle, but they’re worth paying attention to. If your horse isn’t performing quite like they usually do, seems uncomfortable when being tacked up, is avoiding the contact or bit under saddle, or simply doesn’t feel quite themselves, there may be an underlying musculoskeletal issue contributing to this.

✨ Early investigation and appropriate rehabilitation can make a real difference.

Meet the lovely Charlie, demonstrating dynamic weight shifts using a wobble disc - and what a pro he is! 🐾

Wobble disc exercises are a simple yet effective way to support the development of balance, proprioception, coordination, core strength and postural stability. They can be incorporated into an individualised rehabilitation or maintenance programmes and adapted to suit each patient’s needs and abilities.

🐴 What’s all that tape for? 🐶

You may have spotted kinesiology tape making an appearance during or after some of our treatment sessions… but what does it actually do? 💫

Kinesiology taping can be a really useful addition to veterinary physiotherapy, helping to support the body and continue the effects of treatment once the session is over.

Depending on how and where it’s applied, taping can be used to help with:

✨ Supporting muscles and joints
✨ Encouraging muscle activation or relaxation
✨ Improving proprioception and body awareness
✨ Supporting lymphatic drainage and reducing swelling
✨ Improving range of motion
✨ Relieving discomfort
✨ Supporting the release of fascial restrictions

Every application has a purpose and is tailored to the individual animal and what we’re looking to achieve as part of their treatment plan. 🐾

And yes… it can look pretty colourful too! 🌈

✨ Ruby ✨

Meet Ruby, this beautiful 14-week-old Dobermann puppy! Just look at her standing proud and showing off her progress😍

Ruby first came to me at just 12 weeks old with suspected developmental/growth abnormalities, including contracted digits and suspected carpal flexural deformity.

Now, just two weeks later, she is showing a fantastic improvement. She isn’t quite 100% there yet, and will still demonstrate some hyperflexion when fatigued, but the progress she has made in such a short period is fantastic to see.

A massive well done to Ruby’s owner for being so consistent with her remedial exercises and for putting in the work between sessions. That consistency really does make a difference, and it is wonderful to see it reflected in Ruby’s progress 🤍

Early assessment and appropriate intervention can be particularly valuable in growing puppies when abnormalities in posture, limb alignment or movement are identified.

✨ Skipper ✨

Meet Skipper, a lovely 2-year-old Golden Retriever 💛

I see this gorgeous boy occasionally for physiotherapy sessions associated with forelimb lameness. Skipper is a fantastic patient and will usually spend most of his treatment sessions happily snoring away! 💤

Veterinary physiotherapy can be a valuable part of managing a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including diagnosed pathologies such as hip or elbow dysplasia, supporting recovery following surgery, managing age-related changes, or simply providing regular maintenance to help keep your canine comfortable and moving well.
