A huge thank you to tarakirstiegray for organising a HYROX event at Unique Performance Coaching in support of Durham Dogs & Cats Home.

As well as raising awareness of the work we do, the event is also collecting much-needed donations of food, bedding and treats for the dogs and cats in our care.

Support like this makes a real difference to a small local charity like ours, helping us care for animals while they wait for the right home.

Thank you Tara, and thank you to everyone taking part, donating and supporting the event. We really appreciate it.

Meet Queenie 🐾

Queenie is a gorgeous 5-year-old French Bulldog who sadly came to us after being abandoned outside a shopping centre.

Despite what she’s been through, she is a lovely, affectionate girl who absolutely loves tummy rubs, fuss and spending time with people once she feels comfortable.

Queenie can be a little nervous when she first meets someone new, so she needs a patient home where she can take things at her own pace and build her confidence. Give her a little time and you’ll soon see her affectionate side come through.

We think Queenie would be happiest in a quieter home as the only dog, with someone who has plenty of time to spend with her and can give her the security and attention she deserves.

She’s only five and has so much love left to give. Now she just needs someone to show her that she’s finally home.

Could Queenie be the one for you?

If you’re interested in giving Queenie her second chance, please get in touch with Durham Dogs & Cats Home or complete a rehoming application through our website.

Great to see our Fun Dog Show featured in the The Northern Echo

This year’s event showed just how much support there is for Durham Dogs & Cats Home, and we’re already looking forward to planning next year’s show.

We want to make it bigger and better, while keeping the same community-based feel that made this year so special.

A huge thank you again to everyone who supported the day, took part, sponsored a class, volunteered, brought along their dogs or simply came down to enjoy it.

Roll on 2027.

Durham Dogs & Cats Home raised more than £2,000 at its fun dog show at The Sands, bringing County Durham families and pets together to support…
