Scottish Champs 2026, what a weekend!

There was 9 horses bred by Tannasg competing at all levels over the weekend, and 3 horses representing 2 different countries in the Home International competition!

2 day 160km - Fionnghuala and Tannasg Psyonny (now 20!) were having a super ride and had completed approximately 130km before Psyonny had a nasty trip and the pair of them had a heavy splat. Psyonny was absolutely fine but Fionnghuala needed a trip to A&E to make sure all was well, she is thankfully just bashed and bruised.

2 day 120km - Francis and Tannasg Solar Flare completed in fine style to come joint 2nd. Tim and Tannasg Alif were running well before a navigational error after which Tim elected to retire and save Alif for another day.

60km ER - Iain on Tannasg Adonis and Grainne on Tannasg Galileo had a great ride together before settling the race in the final sprint, which Adonis just squeaked his nose in front!

50km open - Louise and Tannasg Sicario had a great ride and won the 50km open class

50km Novice - Katie and Tannasg Fuego looked superb and won the novice 50km class. Fuego also won the novice horse Cup!

Fuego and Sicario were also joint winners of the AHS Salver which is for the highest placed horse in the 50km registered with the Arab Horse Society.

30km - Ali and Tannasg Emporio had a great run and finished looking fantastic
Pleasure - Alex and Tannasg Rumaysa completed their 2nd pleasure ride together, its great to see this partnership getting going.

It was a wonderful weekend seeing the whole extended Tannasg family with many other Tannasg owners at the champs!

It was also really cool to see 2 sets of 3 full siblings competing, Alif, Flare and Emporio are all full brothers (Psyches Boy x Tannasg Dancing Flame) and Adonis, Fuego and Rumaysa are full siblings too (Tannasg Ansomrob x Kazanan)

Its always wonderful when on of our horses goes off to their new home, however recently we had a very special day helping one little girls dreams come true!

Alex and her mum Sam came to visit us and see some horses, during the visit Alex and Tannasg Baileys Cream (our first connie x arab) had an instant connection, when 2 year old Bailey put his head in Alex's chest it was clear he had chosen his person. A few weeks later Alex, Sam and Jonny visited again under the pretense of coming to see our new foal, little did Alex know she was coming to pick up her new pony! We decorated the stable with balloons and started Baileys career as a little girls pony with lots of pink ribbons.

What followed was a delightful reunion, many happy tears and a very happy little girl!

We cannot wait to watch Bailey and Alex continue their bond and no doubt have a wonderful career together

Our second foal of the year arrived safely, a very pretty filly by Tannasg Ansomrob out of Kazanan (TB). Here she is meeting our other foal, not a bad view to grow up with!

Huge congratulations to Francis and Tannasg Solar Flare who won the 160km at the Scottish Thistle last weekend! A varied and technical course it was wonderful to see them finish in style over what was reported to be a proper endurance test.

Huge congratulations to Kathy and Tannasg Storm who won the performance formula in the 2 day 120km class at the iconic Golden Horseshoe ride!

After the ride Kathy said "I'm so proud of Storm! That was a big ask of her with a lot of climbing on stony, rocky tracks especially on day 1 and the relentless heat especially on day 2. She just kept going, still pulling at the end. Pulse at final vetting was just 43 - I couldn't believe it."

We had a fantastic time at the SERC Balgone ride at the weekend! Iain took Tannasg Adonis and Fionnghuala took Tannasg Psyonny (who is now 20!) and teamed up with Ali on Tannasg Emporio and Robyn on Tannasg Willow for a lovely 30km together. All the horses pinged round with much enthusiasm for a nice steady 12kph finish.

Also in the 30km class was Louise on Tannasg Sicario who looked fantastic and were awarded best condition!

In the 50km class Francis and Tannasg Solar Flare popped round and looked super all day!
