What a great scent class tonight. Toby was really good at indicating to his owner tonight that he’d found the clove scent, Jack was finding clove for his first time and Monty was making us all laugh with his antics before being really focussed on the shoe search !

It’s been a lovely autumn day for a walk on the Yorkshire Moors with 7 dogs and their owners. The views were stunning from Skelton tower and we were lucky to see the steam train go by while we were eating our lunch. Then we walked by 2 beautiful highland cows who were not bothered by us at all. Thanks to Cookie, Abby, Sydney, Monty, Bramble, Peaches and Winnie for being so good on the walk

Thank you for all bearing with me with reduced classes while I finished my dissertation. I studied what the barriers are for owners providing enrichment for their senior dogs and I’m pleased to say that I got a distinction for it so I’m thrilled. Just 2 final case study analysis to do and that’s my studying days over so I can do more of this !

Fun agility was great today with something a bit different - the dogs learned the agility course back to front so we started with learning the end of the course. What this does is build confidence in the dog and handler because they start with a couple of obstacles and only when they routinely do those well, they then add other obstacles in bit by bit. It sounds complicated but it really works. Here are Carol and Gilbert showing how they have half the course nailed !

The socialisation walk at Dalby yesterday and fun agility today were fabulous - rosettes were handed out from last week’s fun competition and every dog learned something new at agility !

Last night Reggie gained his level 2 indoor scent work rosette for finishing off his skills and his brother Archie got his 2 rosettes from the weekend fun agility competition for getting an equal first in the ‘best focus’ category and the ‘most improved this season’. Huge congratulations to both of them !
